Taming Texanna

(42 customer reviews)

He needs to track her down, marry her, and take his woman home.

Nineteen year old Texanna Rae Grant is not happy, even though she knows men lust after her. She is not marriage material. Her own mother abandoned her when she was a child, and now her father wants to be rid of her, too. She doesn’t know why she’s so unlovable, but she obviously is. When her best friend Mandy tells her that her cousin, the marshal, has eyes for her, Texanna doesn’t believe her. He wouldn’t be interested in her, and even if he were, he wouldn’t stay. No one ever does.

Half-breed Marshal Colton McFadden is known all over the West for his uncanny inner sense and tracking abilities. Many of the unattached women of the quickly growing township are interested in him, but he only has eyes for one woman, Texanna Grant. Colton’s inner vision seems to see into her very soul, which is innocent but troubled. He knows her father would not allow him to court his daughter due to his mixed blood, marshal or not.

Then a hole in the storeroom chinking on laundry day, trousers, men’s undergarments, a little coercion, and a spanking change everything. Now Mr. Grant insists on the marriage! Texanna is on the run, and Colton needs to bring order back to his house and his life. First things first, however. He needs to track her down, marry her, and take his woman home. Then he can start Taming Texanna.

The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning in this story with several Indians, their uncanny ability to sense things, a wild-child woman who is defiant, argumentative, ecstatic, heartbroken and everything in between. She is struggling with feeling tossed away by everyone and has a hard time trusting Colt, which causes her to do the craziest things and be in more trouble. His discipline settles her, and she is trying to find her peace in his home with his mother and grandmother. Not everyone is who they appear, and sometimes Anna is too trusting. There is a danger lurking, and it is closer than you think. There is a great cast of characters, situations, and dialog.

I did so not want this story to end! I loved it! The fiery, feisty, heroine Texanna and her stern mystical Marshal, that she initially resents marrying are a sexy captivating couple that have such chemistry between them the reader is drawn into the plot and into a well described past. A really good long western read with strong characters and a vibrant tale. I highly recommend this one!

This is a very enjoyable book to read. The heroine, Texanna (Anna), is a wonderful feisty lady that reacts to events without first thinking through her actions, which causes many adventures and lots of spanking. The hero, Colton(Colt), is a strong dominant man that is able to give Anna what she needs to feel secure and loved, including some harsh but loving punishments. At some parts of the book, the story line seemed to move a bit slowly which is why I did not rate a five but it will definitely provide entertainment and a feeling of pleasure for the reader.

I am really enjoying the latest books by this author. Colton is just what Texanna needs. Abandoned by her mother and abused by the man that raises her, she hasn\’t really known love, or discipline. She is a bit of a wild spirit. Colton with his Indian heritage is just the one to appreciate her wild spirit and discipline her in a way that makes her thrive. I love that Colton\’s Pia and Kaku are their to help Texanna as well. She is a feisty woman and Colton is the strong, loving man she needs.

Taming Texanna is a must read for any one who enjoys a historical fiction filled with love, spankings, family, mystery, and intrigue. This well written and well developed story revolves around Texanna Rae, \”Anna\” and Colton; however, it also includes other family members. While Anna\’s father is a horrible person, others such as Colton\’s mother and grandmother are absolutely wonderful. I love how the author brought the Native American culture into this story through Colton\’s heritage. As the story evolves not only does the love story continue to grow , so does the mystery and intrigue. Read to see how the Addler gang is involved in Anna\’s and Colton\’ life and who the third person of the gang is. I highly recommend enjoying this wonderful book as Alyssa Bailey does not disappoint . Loved it!

  13. Good bedtime reading

Texanna or Anna to her friends is only nineteen but her uncaring father is trying to marry her off to anyone who\’ll take her. Marshal Colton McFadden has his eye on her but feels his partial Indian heritage is a draw back. But when he finds her with his young cousin Mandy peeping through a spy hole then discipline ensues for both young ladies. From one spanking lead to a shotgun wedding to a twist in the tale of discoveries and secrets withheld while Texanna was growing up and the uncaring feelings and abandonment of family. A great western story with spice, sex and discipline.

I enjoyed this story. I liked Texanna and Colt. Colt tries to teach Texanna to react to situations that upset her in a healthy way that wont endanger her. Texanna has abandonment issues and Colt does his best to provide the love, comfort and security she never had growing up. I especially liked that her problems with her parents weren\’t easily resolved as I think this is realistic as was the time it took getting to know Colt\’s mother and grandmother and learning to find her place in the household as Colt\’s wife. A good story.

I thought this book was awesome. The characters had so much depth and were unique; I really liked so many of them and hated others. The plot was fascinating with so much going on throughout the book. The mystery and suspense were great, but I also loved the lack of suspense that came from the \”intuition\” of Colton\’s family. Texanna\’s need for discipline was consistent and Colton delivered. Their relationship was heartwarming and I enjoyed every bit of it. I highly recommend this book.

This historical fiction novel takes place in the American West. Colton is a U.S. Marshall who admires Texanna from afar. He does not pursue her because he is half-Indian. Little does he know, though, Texanna has been admiring him, too. They soon marry and begin the journey of finding trust in one another. Texanna, however, has a horrible lot in life where she has been abandoned by everyone around her. Colt helps Anna gain calmness when she experiences chaotic emotions. Meanwhile, danger is closer than they initially thought. Will Colt be able to save Anna in time?

The love between the two main characters pulls you into the story. Along the way, you even feel fondness for Pia and Kaku. The spankings are plentiful and scorching.

A long fun story with lots of different elements. The characters are well rounded and very human. There is lots of love and understanding by Colt as he married wild, lost Anna. A very enjoyable fun page turner. There is some spankings all well described and deserved. The sex is spicy, and lots of fun. I really enjoyed this story.

This was a really good book that I would happily read again. Texanna has had an unfortunate upbringing having been abandoned by her mother and abused by her father. Texanna and Colt fall in love but she finds it hard to follow his instructions when she was used to relying on herself has she has done for many years. Discipline and consistency proved beneficial and the relationship became strong.

Wonderful story! A great story of a feisty girl in need of someone to love her even though trouble follows her, but thankfully there is a U.S. Marshall strong enough to do the loving and the taming.

Texanna is definitely a defiant strong willed woman who does what she wants. Colton is the first person to show that he truly cares about her. He rescues her from an abusive relationship with her father. and makes her his wife. Along the path to getting to know each other there is lots of adventure, sex, discipline and suspense. If you enjoy a fast moving western romance this story will fit the bill.

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT. This book really resonated with me. I felt a connection with Texanna. Also having been abandoned by a parent and raised by an abusive man I thought was by father, I felt her need to push Colton and to test his word. However I still found myself thunking my hand on my forehead wondering when she was going to get with the program and start thinking before she acted. I was so glad that the relationship with her mother was not unrealistically resolved. I enjoyed the mystery aspect, and unexpected(?) twist into Marks identity and the helpful shooter also. A bit put off by the euphemisms used, but that\’s just a issue I often have with the romance genera. Overall well worth the read.

Enjoyed the history and the Native American addition. Kaku and Pia were great support characters as were other family members. I loved the slow build of their relationship and the suspenseful ending with plenty of twists that were all laid to rest neatly, in the end. Wonder if we could get a story about other characters in the book. Looks like they have something to say as well. Thanks for a good read.

Wonderful story of an abandoned girl who grew up with an abusive parent. She finds love with a gentle but firm man who teaches her trust. Aided by his mother and grandmother, he also teaches her how a loving family should act. It was nice to have a lead character be a native American and explore a native American family. There was a great mystery and a realistic ending for everyone. My only issue with the story was that the heroine continued to act out and almost consciously get in trouble after being helped and loved by the hero. It was a little hard for me to understand why she was throwing away happiness. That said, the book was very well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was a wonderful fast paced page turner with lots of action and unexpected twists and turns. A sweet kindhearted stubborn young lady who feelings of being abandoned by her mother, hated by her father who continued to physically abuse her left her feeling insecure and lonely. Her stern Native American husband loves her deeply and she is in a constant struggle with herself learning to trust his love. There are many spankings, some harsh but given with love and an intense happy sexual relationship. The storyline is well written with excellent character development, good dialogue and more. I highly recommend this book.

This fast paced, Western romance was very enjoyable. Texanna and Colt are drawn to each other and then forced to marry before they are ready. Colt has the support of his mother and grandmother who have taught him well how to treat a woman. A mystery develops around the couple but all ends well. Texanna earned her fair share and more of discipline, and some fine loving as well. I very much enjoyed the Native American content of the story and the respectful way the author wove their lore into the story.
