(2 customer reviews)

Disobey the cowboy and he’ll deliver a dose of old-fashioned discipline.

Discover a lifestyle club in the west or a ranch in a small town. Six cowboy heroes willing to tame their women to protect them.

This collection of six contemporary western romances delivers everything from sweet to spicy. Featuring BJ Wane, Allison West, Kira Barcelo, Starla Kaye, Misty Malone, and Carolyn Faulkner.

Submitting to the Rancher by BJ Wane

Sydney finds more than she bargained for when she gets lost on her way to report for a new job and finds herself at a lifestyle club. Peering in through the window, her attention – and libido – are both snagged by a man delivering some old-fashioned discipline to a young blonde. After he runs Sydney off, both are surprised to discover she is the new chef he’s hired for his ranch.

Her Billionaire Daddy by Allison West

Marry him for eighteen months and receive two million dollars for her trouble. The only catch, no sex. Oh, and she has to call him Daddy!

Larkin’s Cowboy by Kira Barcelo

Adam is a widower and he makes no effort to hide the fact that he’s interested in Larkin. He also makes no effort to hide the fact that he shares the small-town “values” that so shocked Larkin, and that he has a pretty clear idea of what should happen to snoopy trespassers.

Dude Ranch by Starla Kaye

Jake Caldwell’s grandmother suggests a marriage of convenience between Jake and Rylee Jamison. Crazy, right? Maybe not…

Count this Cowboy In by Misty Malone

The feisty little redhead sure knows how to get under his skin, but she also works her way into his heart. Her temper doesn’t scare him off like it did other men because he has his own special way of dealing with her tantrums. It may be effective, but she’s not sure she can live with his unique way of showing her how much he cares.

Embraced by Carolyn Faulkner

Barrett Caver spanked his sister. That was reason enough, as far as Meagan O’Reilly was concerned, to spend as little time with him as possible. But this year, when she drives down to Texas to spend some of her summer vacation with her friend, his sister, Mandy, he hasn’t had the decency to go off on a business trip. Instead, he’s home, annoying her and bossing her around as much as his sister – even spanking her, although he has no right, and kissing the breath from her body at every possible opportunity, making Meagan consider what it might be like to be married to a man who wouldn’t hesitate to put her over his knee if he thought she needed it.

Publishers Note: This collection of six stories includes steamy scenes and elements of power exchange.

The review reflects from previously read and posted reviews of these stories. Several of these have also been featured in other collections—Larkin’s Cowboy by Kira Barcelo and Count This Cowboy In by Misty Malone was also in Love of a Cowboy, Volume Two: Five Contemporary Western Romances

Three of the stories I do not find that I have read or reviewed:
Her Billionaire Daddy by Allison West
    Dude Ranch by Starla Kaye
    Embraced by Carolyn Faulkner

Submitting to the Rancher by BJ Wane (5 stars)

What a great start to a new series, Cowboy Doms. There are several authors that, as soon as I see a new book by them, I can’t wait to read, and Ms. BJ Wane is one of those authors. She has a way of spinning a tale, with a great cast of characters and excellent dialog and interaction. Her women are strong, feisty, and her men are dominant alphas, making for a perfect combination.

When her Uncle Mike accosts Sydney Greenbrier, she knows she has to do something. But she doesn’t want to hurt her grandmother about her baby boy, so instead, she flees town, finds a job as a cook on a ranch, applies, and is hired. Traveling two days away to work until she can come up with a plan.

Rancher and BDSM club owner, Caden, knows that if he doesn’t get a cook soon, he will have a riot on his hands and might lose valuable ranch hands. Getting a reply from Sydney is a godsend—tasting her cooking and seeing how happy his men are a wise move.

The plot will have Sydney getting lost finding the Dunbar ranch, and instead, seeing the light on a barn, she peers inside a window and WOW at what she sees, a private club, rightly named, The Barn, with half-naked women and alpha women. She can’t look away, and she will be caught, but none other than Caden.

The story is full of mystery, suspense, danger, a cook who has no sense of direction, a man who is fighting an attraction, and then dealing with issues on the ranch. Sydney won’t open up and tell him what is going on, but Caden and even Sheriff Grayson know something is bothering her. What will happen to the Dunbar ranch if she stays? Her Uncle Mike has tracked her down, and threats are made; where will Sydney go to keep others safe?

I love the chemistry between Caden and Sydney, he is stubborn, but when he gives in and takes control, he knows just how to take care of Sydney and rock her world. What will it take for her to trust him entirely with her story? Will she need to leave just as she finally finds happiness? Their story is full of erotic scenes, and the sex scenes between Caden and Sydney are explosive—and there might be some surprises. I can’t wait for more stories in this series.

    Larkin’s Cowboy by Kira Barcelo

I loved this story, seeing the love Larkin Gregory has for her sister and her family. Coming to Santo Pueblo, Texas, to spend Thanksgiving brings unexpected surprises. Meeting cowboy, Adam McLeod, is a real eye-opener. Being from New York City, Larkin assumes that cowboy doesn’t equal intelligence, but he debunks that myth quickly. Trespassing is another bottom warming experience. An accident with her sister and niece is a wake-up call of what is really important in life, family, love, and true happiness. I love the chemistry between Larkin and Adam, with witty dialogue and a heartwarming story. (5 stars) NOTE: I purchased the Love of a Cowboy, Book Two Box Set that this story is featured in.

Count this Cowboy In by Misty Malone
    Modern Day Western Domestic Discipline

I liked the interaction between Samantha “Sam” Simmerly and Trevor Nottingham. Sam is high-strung and impulsive, and Trevor is a protective sort of man. Sam goes to work as a bookkeeper for Trevor because she wants to work on a ranch, but Sam is in for more than working as a bookkeeper; she is in for lots of spankings for her behavior and disobedience. Trevor believes in DD, even for a female employee, and expects obedience, or else he spanks. Sam keeps a red bottom too! I guess what shocked me, but not in the wrong way, is there is NO SEX at all in this book. (5 stars)

This is a collection of previously published stories with that cowboy theme. I have read and reviewed several of these books, but a few are new to me. I enjoyed the stories and the discipline.

Submitting to the Rancher BJ Wane 5*
I loved this book! The chemistry between Caden and Sydney is great. Sydney is sure of herself and sassy! Caden is a dom thru and thru.

Her Billionaire Daddy Allison West 4*
Martin needs a wife for a business deal. He meets Samantha when he goes to her bookstore for a book for his sister. Samantha and his sister used to be friends, but they had a falling out; over Martin! I enjoyed the story. It really isn’t much of a Daddy/Little book, but I enjoyed it.

    Larkin’s Cowboy Kira Barcelo 4*
Larkin goes to Texas to spend Thanksgiving with her sister and her family. Larkin thought that she was in a timeout with her relationship, but he calls to tell her he is moving. Larkin is upset, but not devastated. Then she meets Adam and she finds an instant attraction to the cowboy. But Larkin lives in NYC. Is there a way for the two of them to be together? I enjoyed the story and the discipline was good.

    Dude Ranch Starla Kaye 4*
Rylee and Jake have one thing in common, Jake’s grandmother. She wants Jake married. Jake decides that if he and Rylee marry, that will keep his grandmother out of his business. But when they marry, things start to backfire. Rylee and Jake fall in love, but neither really knows how to deal with it. I will say that Jake got on my nerves. He spanked for stupid reasons and Rylee accepted it!

Count this Cowboy In Misty Malone 5*
This is a wonderful story about a young woman named Samantha and a young cowboy named Trevor. Trevor hires Sam to do the bookkeeping for his ranch. I think the only thing that I had a problem with is that even though Sam is experienced at working on a ranch, Trevor won’t let her help out because he wants to keep her safe. This leads to lots and lots of spankings. I do think that Trevor is over-reacting, but it does work in this book and he makes Sam feel secure. It she doesn’t mind, who am I to? lol

    Embraced Carolyn Faulkner 5*
Meagan is best friends with Mandy. They have known each other since college. Mandy’s brother, Barrett raised her and her brothers when their parents died when he was 16. What bothers Meg is that Barrett still spanks Mandy, even though she is an adult. And Mandy allows it! When Meg comes for her annual two week visit, she is expecting Barrett to be gone, like usual. But, he isn’t and that is the start of Barrett’s campaign to win Meg’s love and submission. This is a great story and a classic Carolyn Faulkner.
