The five daughters of King Elgar are everything one would expect of pampered princesses – beautiful, indulged and terribly spoiled. Their brattiness has made marrying them off something of a challenge. The king believes his daughters are in need of guidance, and with no male heir he decides to offer a challenge to the five princes exiled from the neighboring kingdom Randor: tame the princesses, marry them and inherit Elgar to rule as their own.

The princesses are furious and determined not to be tamed. But the princes are equally determined. And how hard can it be, really, to instill obedience in five pampered princesses? As it turns out, it’s far more difficult than they think…

Well-written generally, but I think the author was trying to do too much in one story, with five different relationships. The princes and princesses ended up seeming too one-dimensional. The princesses are all reduced to fairly simple categories: the bad-tempered one, the troublemaker, the liar, the mischievous one, and the spoiled one. And while they do gain some depth, it’s not a lot. The fairy-tale style, I think, just makes it worse; the problems, the lessons, and the resolutions all end up oversimplified. All that said, I did enjoy it – I just wish it would have done more (maybe it would have been better as a longer story, or more than one book, or with fewer princesses?).

Old King Elgar summons 5 exiled brothers to come tame and marry his 5 wayward daughters and then take over the kingdom. Much easier said than done. Fun story and really fun characters. Could have been proofed better.

I liked this story. Five different sets of character, made for five different short stories. They would have been too short by themselves, but together- perfect!
I liked the men- their flaws, strength, weaknesses. I liked how they thought through their challenges, instead of just acting arrogant and domineering. Very good.

What a fun loving fairy tale! Ms. Wilde weaves a tale of princes and princesses orchestrated by the king to eventually fall in love and live happily ever after. Of course it is not quite so smooth as that.

This is a great story about five princesses whose father can\\\’t find them suitors due to how bratty they are so he offers five exiled princes the chance to tame his daughters and marry them and rule his kingdom. All five short stories flow together nicely and really mix well.

I must agree with the review of too much in one story. Each couple could have had their own story. It would have made for better story telling. With knowing so little about the personal dynamics, the plot narrowed down to the princesses easily being able to outsmart the princes and the princes having nothing to fall back on but physical strength. . . might makes right. The princes\\\’ were physically stronger so they won. I think they deserve better and having their own time to tell their stories would end up a much better result. That being said, it was still a fun read.

A very enjoyable read. The five exiled princes are just what the wild and bratty princesses need.

  23. Disappointed

This book had great potential but was seriously lacking in the delivery. I totally agree with the reviewer who said that it needed to be longer or a book about each princess because as it stands not one of them left you satisfied. More than that I hated how we never saw the way the prince\’s feelings change they just all of a sudden after spanking them for the third time recanted what they said previously and believed in equality now and yet not really. It was ridiculous! You never got to see them grow into that belief it just magically happened. It was the same with the princesses after being spanked over and over and even humiliated they saw the error of their ways with only one truly getting a heartfelt lecture delivered of course after being spanked. I\’m all for some spanking in the bedroom but not being treated like a child every time I exert my will or disagree with my husband. Seriously who wants to be treated like that? I could have understood a spanking or two maybe but not every single time and as princes about to rule a kingdom they can\’t find a way to get someone to act in a befitting way other than spanking? I will say that the princesses are spoiled at times needed to change but I would have liked to see them grow into responsible kind young women and that didn\’t happen.
