Whitney Lehman has always prided herself on being one of the guys. As member of an elite wildfire fighting crew, the diminutive redhead pulls her weight both on and off the fire line in her circle of male companions. The brotherhood accepts her as one of their own.

With one exception.

As a newcomer to the fire crew, handsome Jude Kramer isn’t as impressed as the other men with Whitney. He finds her too outspoken and belligerent for her own good and thinks what this little firebrand needs is a good comeuppance.

For her part, Whitney just wants him gone. So when Jude makes an unusual offer at the weekly poker game – a wager that will have him depart if she wins or her listen to him for two weeks if she loses – she’s unable to resist. Five Card Stud is her game after all.

Or is it? And will his winning hand be able to tame her after all?

This is a GREAT story. Loved everything about it. My only complaints are a few editing problems and that it ended too soon. I can totally see at least one more story if not more with these characters. It ended way too soon! Nice job Fiona!

I thought this story had great potential but it didn’t deliver. Too much story was trying to be told in too little time and it felt like it ended in the middle of the story. The development between Whitney and Jude was totally lacking, it went from animosity to love too quickly.

This story moved really fast for me and I felt that the ending was abrupt. I did enjoy it but just wished it was a little longer and had more substance.

The plot of the story until the outbreak of the fire is original and well developed then accelerates into a dizzying and ends abruptly with no real conclusion.

Whitney and Jude, forest firefighters, have a competitive realtionship. She has always been one of the boys on the fire crew and Jude doesn\\\’t like it. This is their story and how they get past that. The editing could still stand a little improvement but I am looking forward to a sequel. I need to know the rest of the story.

Story started strong, but got a little weak at the end. Also, several typos.

Honestly, this book was unremarkable. I was opposed to anything, it just didn\\\’t stand out in anyway. If you can\\\’t find anything else, it isn\\\’t bad.

This book stared out with a great premise, but kinda fizzled out later and the ending was up in the air. It seemed like there were too many scenarios being crammed into the last few pages. Liked the characters, though, so would definitely read a sequel.

This is a good story about Whitney and Jude who are forest firefighters and always seem to but heads when they are in the same room. After a game of Five Card Stud things definitly get interesting but the ending leaves things up in the air. Hopefully htere will be a sequel to answer all the open questions.

This book is a little too much like Firewatch. While some aspects of the book were ok, I found it moving too slow at times. The point of the story is a bit cliched and I found the overall book to be just OK.

This is the type of story I like. It had a good story line liked the fact that there wasn\\\’t any major sex scenes.
