    Prevent, Protect, Preserve
Stoker, Landon and Garcia three very different men. They have taken the oath to Prevent, Protect and Preserve. They are the bravest of the brave they are firemen, smokejumpers and very loving sexy men. So come join their exciting story. This is going to be a great series.

I am excited about this new series, and this book is just a little taste of much more to come. In this book, we meet three different men, with three different scenarios. The story starts with Stoker, Landen, and Garcia.
Stoker has a daredevil attitude and takes like one thrill at a time. His goal is to become a Smokejumper, along with his friend, Cooper. He has a girlfriend, Vanessa, but where he loves her and takes her for granted, she is in love with him and doesn%u2019t see his latest obsession as positive. It will be more than she can handle, and she will walk out, and move on.
Landen is a haunted man since 9/11. He was a firefighter in New York, like his father. But after the terrorist attack, the collapse of the twin towers, with so much death and destruction, he quit his position and bought a bar. He is now estranged with his father over it. Can Landen, with the help of his girlfriend, and former firefighter brothers put the demons in his past and move towards a new future?
Garcia is a recently graduated from college, and on a three-day campout with his girlfriend and another couple. When in the desert, the fear of torrential rains brings flash flooding. The four will find themselves in a life and death situation. When Garcia tries to get to their vehicle, he found himself in a raging flood and pulled to safety. That is twice in his life he has faced death and escaped. The first time as a child during a house fire and now a vacationing Smokejumper pulled him from the water.
The story has lots of flashbacks in each man%u2019s life and contemplations of their future. There are also intimate scenes in each part, with playful spankings, and explicit sex scenes. The story is just a nice introduction to the books that are to follow.

This is an unusual book, in that it describes itself as a prequel to a series, yet it is in fact more of a preview look at the principal characters to be fully developed in future books. Usually a prequel comes about after a series has been around for a while and there is a need/desire to provide more background or historical context. Call it what you will, prequel or preview, it is still a very interesting and enjoyable introduction to three compelling characters (Stoker, Landen and Garcia) each having a different reason for wanting to be an elite Firefighter and each having a similar propensity to be a dominant alpha male likely to be in a spanking relationship. I don%u2019t know if the upcoming series will feature the three of them together in each book or individually in separate books, but I do know I look forward to reading them. This book itself is a 3 star read, but the characterizations are 4-stars and I expect the full story-line books will be of a 5 star caliber, so let%u2019s settle in the middle for the moment and give this an overall 4-star rating. And being that it is being offered for free, you simply can%u2019t pass it up. Get it now, read it and prepare yourself for a great series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Standing at River’s Edge is the introduction of Stoker, Landon and Garcia. The story is a short read, but I liked the characters and enjoyed the action. I look forward to read more about the characters. I feel it is a successful start of a new series.

I found the prequel to this new series interesting. The reader is introduced to 3 main characters ( Stoker, Landen, Garcia) within the book. Each character is battling their own demons to move forward and succeed. I was intrigued by each person and how their story would develop in the future installments of the series. Overall, I recommend reading this introduction as we are invited into their lives, their minds, and their worlds to see who these men are, the pasts that shaped them, and why they want to be smokejumpers. With action, romance, spanking, intrigue, and excitement included I look forward to reading this unusual and intriguing new series. Libby Campbell did a great job with a well written book, a plot that includes an unusual career that can lead to many exciting stories, characters that are endearing with the hearts and minds of heroes. While this is just the beginning, this new series has promise of many great stories to come. I can’t wait to start reading more from this series!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Excellent, I didn%u2019t want it to end. Maybe there will be a sequel, hope so, although this is read as a stand-alone.
The 2 main characters are broken, from past tragedies, and find comfort from each other, as well as an ability to work out the issues that have paralyzed them emotionally.
There is spanking as well as explicit sex.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. This series will tell the story of 7 firefighters and smokejumpers. This contains the stories of the first 3, their demons and their loves. This isn’t a long read and the stories could be explored a little more, but still a good read.

  8. PJB

Stoker, Landon and Garcia are three different characters. The one thing they all have in common is the fact they have each taken the oath to Prevent, Protect and Preserve. They are the bravest of all firemen, smoke-jumpers! Three gorgeous hero’s – sexy firemen! I am so looking forward to this amazing and exciting new series.

  9. Dyane

This is an introduction to a new series of specialized firefighters called smokejumpers. Each of the three stories gives a glimpse into the background of a smokejumper and why he chose that calling. The characters are interesting and there is the perfect amount of romance, passion and discipline to whet the appetite for the full-length novel. I am really looking forward to each of these books in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

  10. LuCinda Beebe

This book is a preview of the series to come and left me hanging, which I think was its intent. I am waiting on pins and needles for the rest of the books to be released which I hope will be soon. The author does a good job in the description of this book.

Standing at the rivers edge by Pipers Stone
This is the introduction to this series. You will meet Stoker, Landen, Garcia. These men all have a story to tell about their lives and why they became smoke jumpers. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced Reader Copy already knowing I was going to love this series. This is such a fresh and new idea for a story. I was right. I gobbled it up. This story will hurt your heart at the boys and make you proud of the men. I really am going to enjoy every book

  12. Kitty Ranma

This looks like it’s going to be a great series. But this one feels like a teaser rather than as a story itself.
    Reasons I enjoyed this book:
    Easy-to-read, Page-turner, Steamy.

Piper Stone%u2019s new smokejumper series Fire Devils is finally here! The elite group known as the Jackals starts with Stoker Hanson and rocker Jessica Dunn. Here we also get introduced to the rest of the Jackals team whose motto is Prevent. Protect. And Preserve. They also all believe in old fashioned values when it comes to their women and are fond of spanking. They have a club called Burnout where they get together.

Jessica is this close to losing her home, her career as a rock star is burning her out, and her relationship with her band mate is non-existent. One night, she ends up blowing her career at a benefit. It%u2019s time for her to get away and regroup. So she ends up in Missoula, where she runs into Stoker Hanson.

Stoker is a fire fighter on suspension thanks to not listening to his captain. His friend tries to talk him into joining the elite Jackals smokejumping team, but his demons prevent him from saying yes. That is until he hooks up with the fiery Jessica. Jess craves the discipline Stoker can give her, and she talks him into joining the Jackals. But one of their own may be setting dangerous fires, and Stoker just might be the one to figure it out!

Piper has done an amazing job with this novel and I loved the relationship between Jessica and Stoker. While I have never been a huge fan of Domestic Discipline books, this one was done just right! It had a wonderful plot, hot sex scenes, and suspense that kept me guessing right up until the end. I honestly can%u2019t wait to read the rest of this series!
