When writer Elsa Klein-Faulkner leads American city life behind to join her husband in the English countryside, she tries to convince herself that she’s up for playing the supportive role to his dream of restoring an old farm. But the pastoral lifestyle soon wears on her, until the nightmares start. Elsa has vivid dreams of someone’s past life - a woman married to a strict husband.

At first she fears she’s going crazy, but when items like a strap and a diary show up she begins to research the house and learns something of its frightening, mysterious history. With the help of a local archivist, she begins to dig into the past, only to realize too late that strict husbands - even those from the past - may be best left alone. I enjoyed this book very much. It wasn\\\’t quite what I was expecting because of the supernatural elements involved but it was well written with a lot of detail. I read it in one sitting!

This was a good story which takes place in England. Very scenic, a ghost who spanks and lots of mystery. I enjoyed it.

I loved this book, especially because it was set in England. I enjoyed the characters and the intrigue as the plot developed. The folk lore was interesting but very different than any I had heard of before.

This is a wonderful story about a couple who buys a house and the wife discovers that the house is haunted and her husband doesn’t believe her at first. The male ghost is very old fashioned and spanks hard. Nice story with a very good ending.

This was a change from previous stories, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a mystery as well. Elsa is trying to find out what happened to the previous relatives Terrence and Katie and at the same time keep her and Harrison safe. The spanking is sort of in the third party. It is tales of their relatives experiences through their diaries and made into reality by Terrence, the ghost, trying to keep Elsa safe as well. I couldn’t put it down. It was enjoyable and when you finally find out what happened, it makes for a nice happy ending. The spanking scenes were not severe nor terribly detailed.

Very well written. I really liked the ghost couple, and Elsa, but I can’t say I was very impressed with her husband. He really made me mad, belittling Elsa for her fears. But by the end of the story he did redeem himself.

This was different than what I’m used to reading. I’m not one for ghost our vampire stories but I truly enjoyed . Some off these writers never cease amaze me with their incredible ability to make me feel like I’m right there in the story, which Sullivan did for me in this one.

I loved this story. It was so easy to get to know and adore the characters. Elsa, Rev. Fairfield and Archibald McNab quickly became favorites. The most outstanding part of this story is the folk lore. The author did an amazing job of bringing it to life. I felt like I was reading something that was truly possible. Thank you, Sullivan Clarke for creating a fairy tale that drew me in as when I was a child.

Elsa and Harrisonnare left a farm in England. When they get there Elsa discovers it is haunted. Harrison won’t listen to her and so goes the battle between them A good story more serious than I unsually enjoy but I did enjoy it.
