I loved this story, the reality of their relationship, the stress of parenting, and the chemistry between the characters. Sadie is a mother of three children, twin daughters and an infant son. She and Robert have been married for more than ten years and had a DD marriage until about three months before their son was born. They need to get back on track, back to how things used to be, and this is their journey back. The plot kept me captivated, and was so well told that you could feel their emotions, frustrations and disappointments. The dialog was open and honest, even at times when Sadie wasn’t. It was also a great reminder on how important a couple must keep their lines of communication open so there are no misunderstandings.

“I love a story that tells what happens after a couple falls in love and has to adjust to changes time and children bring.
Dinah McLeod did an excellent job in Back in Charge.
Sadie and Robert love each other but they seem to be on the verge of loosing who they really are as individuals and as a couple.
When Robert realizes that his “”being understanding”” is backfiring he decides it’s time for him to get back in HOH mode. Sadie has mixed feelings, as much as her assertive husband makes her heart race his reinstatement of DD and the rules and discipline it includes soon finds her in trouble and with a sore bottom.
The telling of their path back to each other was honest and very believable and made me want to know more about them in the years to come I’m also hoping that the secondary characters Lexi and Pete get a story of their own.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked how they got out of domestic discipline because of the birth of their son and how things just fell apart for Sadie. She really needed to give up control in order to feel in control of her own life

Dinah McLeod has brought the real life struggles of having children and having a DD marriage. The characters were well written and true. I thought that the character of Robert was a little too deep in the HoH role but it was a DD boot camp, after all!

Sadie and Robert used to have a DD relationship until that went on hiatus with the birth of their 3rd child.

Sadie??s character was well written and you really felt for the pressure she was under. Sadie was looking around and seeing all these mothers who made motherhood look easy, she was doubting herself and losing herself under the pressure that was overwhelming her.

When Robert comes home to discover her passed out from exhaustion and the children not fed and changed, this is the starting point that things need to change. Robert discovers the books she??s reading and realises she??s still interested in the discipline they used to have and soon the kids are shipped to the in-laws for a few days and then begins the kick-start of the DD relationship that they used to have.

I enjoyed seeing this from the point of view of a couple who??d lost the relationship they needed and the effort to rekindle it.

    I would definitely recommend it.

I received this as an ARC for an honest review.

This is about a couple that has lost their way. Sadie is not coping well with three small children within a few years. She feels that she doesn’t have any support. When she talks to her husband Robert about it, he is amused. Unfortunately she doesn’t feel that way. When Robert notices that she is reading spanking books again, he realizes that she needs to the relationship again. After the first spanking, she lets him know that she felt lost after they stopped their D/d relationship. Basically, this is about a husband and wife who find their way back into their D/d relationship. I give this 5 stars.

“I loved reading about after the “”happy ever after””. The way this author showed how sometimes real life can make DD more complicated and harder to continue is what kept me unable to put it down. “

Back in Charge is a realistic story of a dd couple who lost their dynamic when they had their third child. As a mom, I could totally relate to Sadie’s frustration and exhaustion. I laughed at the chaos her life had become as well as her antics with her new friend Lexi. The plot had its serious side also as Robert realizes he had been neglecting his duties as the head of household and needs to reestablish his role and help his wife. The resulting punishment scenes were amusing. There’s also deep emotional conflict within Sadie that creates tension in the marriage and of course Sadie doesn’t resolve that the way she should. Overall, the story was humorous and an enjoyable read.

This was a really fun book! I loved it! Robert and Sadie are a couple that have been married 10 years. They were a practicing DD couple until their last child was born. In this book they decide to start it back up. This book had a lot of dialogue (which is always good!), spanking (which again are always good!), a lot of humor, and an HOH that truly loved his wife and wanted the best for her. Loved this book and gave it 5 stars!!!

Back in Charge is the story of Sadie and Robert, a couple married for over a decade with three small children who have taken a break from domestic discipline due to her last complicated pregnancy. Sadie is spinning out of control, overwhelmed with life, and Robert decides it is time to take back the reigns and help his wife out. Back in Charge is a sweet story of a husband who deeply loves his wife and how he knows exactly what she needs to get back to thriving.

Almost every mother should be able to relate to this story. 3 little ones, trying to be a good mother and wife even though you are exhausted and trying to remember who you even are. This is a great story about Sadie and Robert who were practicing DD until late into the pregnancy with their 3rd child. Now the baby is a few months old and they have not resumed the practice. Things are not going great in their marriage and Sadie is feeling very overwhelmed with it all. Robert decides to start back up with the DD and to get their marriage back on track. Robert and Sadie have great chemistry and a lot of love between them. Very steamy scenes and plenty of discipline scenes as well. These are very relatable characters and I really enjoyed this book.

Great story. Sadie’s everyday struggles are real and as a mother of a large brood I understood her frustrations. Robert was a great HoH and his solution was perfct for them.

This was a really sweet story about a couple trying to get back in sync after the birth of their third child. I could really relate to Sadie and her struggles dealing with three small kids. Robert was a hot dominant, strict, but clearly putting his wife and family first. I loved all the characters in this book. It was really well written, and very enjoyable to read.

This book brings back memories of when my children were young. Sadie is the mother of twins girls and a baby boy. The disorganised chaos that can reign when you have 3 little ones brings a lot of humour to this story. Her husband Roberts tries to help out and take up the slack by returning to their DD relationship prior to having kids. He also tries to hide the fact that he’s entertaining the idea of moving but doesn’t tell his wife. Sadie gets suspicious and all hell breaks loose when she thinks he’s having an affair. She is egged on by her new-found friend Lexi to spy on her husband and catch him red-handed. But it all works out in the end…a great story. I found myself smiling at many of the scenarios in empathy.
