I enjoyed this emotional and realistic domestic discipline story that will take the reader on a story of two completely different situations, one violent and abusive and one loving. The story is open, honest and sometimes humorous in a loving way. Adam sees that Jess is getting out of control, her attitude, lack of respect and words have crossed a line, and when she approaches him about domestic discipline, it shocks him, but he talks to someone and then takes Jess to Ms. Margaret for guidance to keep it safe, sane and consensual. I have to admire the characters, their interaction, and concerns as they discuss before hand what is expected and what will be delivered.

This is a wonderful story that explores domestic discipline while also showing the difference between this and abuse. Adam is trying to give Jess and their marriage what they need by trying domestic discipline. It seems to work and is helping Jess change her dangerous behaviors with regard to her personal safety as well as the mean spirited behaviors toward her husband. At the same time, Adam also needs to reconcile his inner feelings as he works to prosecute men who abuse their wives. The author did a nice job showing the difference between loving domestic discipline which is between consenting adults and helps a person versus an abusive behavior that is never agreed upon and is about control and selfish motives of the abuser. Overall the author wrote a well written story that addresses two complex issues within one story. While the story was a little short, I believe she did a wonderful and realistic job showing the difference between loving domestic discipline and a hateful domestic violence. I highly recommend this story and hope you like it as much as I did!

  5. Marybeth Renn

This is a story about two young people starting a D/d relationship within their marriage. Jess and Adam are fighting more. Then Jess is told she must administer a paddling to a student. She has mixed feelings about it and eventually finds a professional dominant to help her. Jess realizes the value in a clean slate and asks her husband to discipline her. That is the start of their new adventure. There are a few missteps along the way, but they straighten everything out and have a HEA. I give this 5 stars

While I found the way the characters related to each other unexpected, unique, real & at times amusing, there were definitely times when I didn\’t particularly like one or both of them. But that\’s the whole joy of books such as this! Relationships come with good & bad, ups & down & times when you just don\’t like the other person. This is another great read from this author & I continue to look forward to many more.

What a lovely story. This story highlighted the difference from abuse and loving domestic discipline.
Jess and Adam seem like newly married people trying to find a happy medium in their relationship. Adam
is an attorney that prosecutes abusive husbands that beat their wives. Jess has an out of control temper and cannot back down from an argument. Is their marriage on the rocks? The spankings were light mostly with hand and paddle. The story was well written. There was the contrast from a case Adam was working on vs his own home life. I think the story was very well written. Enjoyed the read

This is the first book I\’ve read by this author, and I\’ll definitely look for more! This book about Adam and Jess was very sweet. Jess is a teacher and Adam is a defense lawyer. They find a way to solve their conflicts, but then a self-defense case Adam is working on shakes things up. Great ending.

Something Has to Change to Save Their Marriage

Now this was undoubtedly my favorite read this week. It is so real to life, and you can feel the emotion radiating from both characters. Both are trying to do what is right while keeping their marriage stable at the same time. Both are successful, upstanding and responsible citizens.

It starts with an unexpected task as a teacher she is required to do to keep her job and how she goes about dealing with it. The book ends with her husband doing things his way – in a way he can handle.

Be sure to buy this book. You will be glad you did.

I found this to be a well-written and brave book. It took D/d from the fantasy or historical world into a marriage of today. Both partners in the marriage are well-respected and hold responsible jobs. Unfortunately, their marriage has hit a rut. Due to the wife\’s involvement in an incident at her work, she begins to wonder if domestic discipline might work in her marriage. After they both agreed to give it a try, the husband comes up against a serious situation that questions his ability to follow through with their decision. In the end he handles things his way and she follows. It\’s really a lovely book.

out of the fantasy world and into immature marriage.

This is a contemporary romance that is very well written. It is the story of Jess and Adam and how discipline and submission become a part of their struggling marriage. The plot is clever and the story sensitively written. There are some twists and turn to add even more spice. I enjoyed it. The publisher sent me this book as an ARC for an honest review.
