At Dead of Night by Bethany Leigh is a wonderful story about murder, mystery, and intrigue. Lucy, a private investigator, is hired to find out who murdered Marilyn Carter or if her death was truly an accident. As she is investigating she needs to contact her ex-boyfriend to receive information on a source for her case. Noel, a sportswriter, has not heard from Lucy since she broke off their relationship because of a disciplinary spanking. Lucy misses Noel and wants to work things out, but lets misunderstandings stand in her way. As they reconnect as a couple, Noel is determined to keep Lucy safe while the twists and turns of how Marilyn was killed and who was involved kept the intrigue going as the suspects were narrowed down. Usually I am able to guess \"who did it\" in a mystery&semi& however, this time I was guessing right up to the end . Overall I recommend this book to others who like a great mystery and love story combined.

A reader:

This was a marvelous murder mystery with all the elements needed for a storyline. It was well written and suspenseful to the end. There were a few red herrings but no spoilers from me except to say the butler didn\'t do it, lol. Besides a well told tale of mystery and suspense there was a bonus of a domestic discipline. Some was light and fun and some more serious. A real page turner and A great read.

This story kept me captivated and the pages turning as the mystery and suspense unfolds. Who is responsible for the death of Marilyn Carter or was her falling over the cliffs really just an accident? The plot twist kept me in suspense, with just enough details to add to the mix as we learn more about Marilyn, her husband Eric, the people from her church, those she offended, and people from her past. Not everything is black and white, there are so many gray areas. This is a very well written murder mystery, with some romance, many twists and turns, and flashbacks on the relationship of Noel and Lucy. In the end, after Lucy solves the crime, she must pay for her deceitfulness with the man who loves her. As Lucy willingly submits to Noel for correction, their bond is made stronger.

A reader:

I enjoy both suspense and erotica with spankings, and I was happy to try out this book to see how well they combined. I definitely think the suspense/ murder mystery part was covered, but I would have honestly liked more relationship laid out so that the spankings had more honesty to them. I was disappointed that that the relationship was only a very small part of the book. Good mystery, though... Kept me guessing and entertained.
