The owner of the Queen of Tarts invites Alice inside, feeding her delightful sweets in hopes that Alice’s article will focus on her pastry shop. It is not only dessert that the owner of the Queen of Tarts feeds her but also stories of Baylor, the owner of the local pastry competitor, The Mad Batter. He may be hot and single, but he also has a reputation for having a secret club catering to special “Littles” hidden within town.

Will Alice be able to get an invitation to the secretive club and find the story that she desires to write? Despite the dangers, she is determined to satisfy her curiosity. Will her investigative skills be enough to keep her out of trouble, or will she find her bottom bared?

SEEING THE OTHER SIDE OF WONDERLAND

I enjoyed this spin on Alice and Wonderland and the unique people, town, secrets, and mysteries to be uncovered.

Alice Hall is a reporter for The Daily Chronicle in Fayette and is asked to go to the small town of Wonderland and write a story about the town, to help drum up more tourism business. Her first business is to see Tara at the Queen of Tarts where she is given a tart and a fizzy drink that sets this tale into motion. Other businesses include Mr. White who owns an antique shop that specializes in pocket watches, Bay who runs The Mad Batter Bakery, a restaurant with décor after Tulgey Forest and a menu to match the story, one hotel. Then one secret business that will take Alice into another world of an erotic adventure of self-discovery.

The story is a delightful tale of Alice and her experience with Bay into a dominant and little scenario at a private club. When Alice snoops around, looking for the elusive “sex club” that Tara warns her about, she stumbles upon a secret door and enters into another world, one where “to be little is to be free.” Will Bay allow Alice “the freedom of being a child with no responsibilities” for a night? “Adulting was such hard work.” This is a fun age play adventure that allows a young woman the opportunity, away from everyone she knows, to explore her little side with a Papa.

Great retelling

Having never read the traditional Alice in Wonderland story, I probably didn't get as much out of it as I otherwise could have. I did enjoy it but am left with some questions unanswered. I found this a very sweet, well written story.

Wonderland for Grownups

A Taste of Wonderland is an interesting twist on the story of Alice in Wonderland. Alice is not a young girl or a teenager – she is a 32 year old reporter asked to do a story on a town called Wonderland – where many of the businesses and characters are similar to those in the children’s story. However the plot is an adult tale of love and passion that develops between Alice and Bay – the owner of a bakery in Wonderland, as well as a club for practitioners of age play – and age play plays a role in developing the passion between them. It is a cute, fast paced fantasy without a lot of sex but some spanking and age play – and with interesting characters.

A Good Remake of a Classic Story

This is a good remake of a classic story. Alice is a journalist sent to Wonderland to write a story with the hope of increasing tourism. She meets Baylor who runs a BDSM club for littles and introduces her to age play. This is a sweet read with a HEA.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
