Overview

Christmas in Alaska is magical. Catering a difficult wedding, missing her parents and friends, and a certain Lexan paddle are all making it hard for Cass to embrace the magic of the season. Will Cass be able to find the perfect Christmas present for Killian? Will she ever feel like she belongs in Slick Trench?
With her typical self-deprecating aplomb, snark, and sexiness, Cass discovers that "It’s the most Wonderful Time of the Year." And a certain paddle means that it will certainly not be a "Silent Night". Features recipes so good you can get a bit rounder just reading them and the spanking of adult women, as well as all kinds of red hot shenanigans.

LET THE WEDDING SEASON BEGIN

The Nelson’s lodge and a new building for wedding venues are kicking off with their first wedding that will be followed by The White Gown Network. The bride, Chelsea, is a banker, and the groom is a skateboarder. The wedding party is small but includes some very influential people. The bride and her sister are sweet and easy to please, the bride’s mother is a different story. The groom is being influenced by his soon-to-be mother-in-law, trying to change all the well-laid plans, flowers, menu, etc.

As with all the Cass Chronicles books, the CassCooks blog is always a treat to read and all the recipes that are mentioned in the story will follow at the end of the book. Life in Slick Trench is still a challenge for both Cass and her father-in-law, Lloyd, as non-Alaskans. The Nelson family are outgoing, full of life people that treat their guest like family and give them wonderful memories. There are some unexpected incidents that have a positive outcome, and show how people pull together for one another.

The story includes the loving relationship between Killian and Cass, and their domestic discipline lifestyle. There are multiple spankings, including ones she asks for herself to calm down. They have a very healthy and active love life that is depicted in the books. New traditions will be started for this loving couple with their life in Slick Trench, Alaska.

Red hot shenanigans!

This is my first read from author Susannah Shannon, and it will not be my last. I can't wait to pick up the other Cass Chronicles.

I fell easily into Slick Trench (ha) and the world created there. I connected quickly to Cass - she's lovable, sassy and feisty - everything I want in a heroine. I enjoyed following her blog and drooling over the yummy recipes included at the end. I will be trying all of them soon!

Then there is Killian. *swoon* Seriously. He needs an award. His sexy, firm handling of every situation makes me green with envy. Need a new book boyfriend to call your very own this winter? Go get the rest of the series and curl up with him. Right now!

Five bright stars. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, but my review is my own.

A reader:

Delightfully funny and sexy

It's another winner in the Cass Chronicles. Book 5 is as delightful as each of the previous stories. Full of humor and lighthearted, this book details the second wedding she has produced for her TV show. As with all weddings, there are last minute complications, the consequences of which frequently land Cass over Killian's knee. As an added bonus, the book is full of Christmas recipes and helpful hints. The series could not be more well-written or funnier. It is perfect for a quick pick-me up. I only wish the books were longer, so I could spend more time in Cass's world. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Quick Read

This book is a very quick read. Cass has a tendency to get stressed and run off at the mouth. Killian has a tendency to put a stop to it. They are perfectly in tune to each other.

I didn't realize I had read book one until I was about a third of the way through this one. Just goes to show you that they don't have to be read in order. I had no problem following the storyline.

This book didnt really cause me to feel any particular way. The cooking was more interesting than the romance. I like Killian and Cass together, but I liked the first book more. I will have to pick up the ones in between to see what I missed.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy.
