Overview

Heller has worked her butt off to become someone respected in her field. With that, she has also had to fight to stay on top of her game. In an environment of prominently macho males, she has hidden a part of herself. She might not be the gullible, frightened girl she once was, but her hidden desires have had to be tamped down and buried. She never wanted to revisit her past, but she doesn’t have a choice when the one person in her life who made a difference, leaves her with an inheritance that could make her dreams come true. Too bad it’s back on her old stomping grounds.

Tyler Foster has met his perfect match, except she is like no woman he has ever met before. As a small town sheriff, he does not make exceptions. Celebrity or not, she has to toe the line like everyone else. Heller Tandy is not the sweet, ultra-feminine woman of his dreams. She comes out fighting, with little regard for her safety, and she sees no boundaries or danger.
He quickly discovers she is a woman who can be both strong and vulnerable. She isn’t what most people believe her to be. With discovery comes love, and with love comes commitment and discipline. She may think she is invincible, but he is there to teach her differently. If it takes a reddened bottom to teach her right from wrong, he’s the man for the job. He is also man enough not to use her, but to teach her the nuances of love.

A fantastic full length novel with an intriguing setting

This book had me hooked from the very beginning. A gifted young female mechanic from the wrong side of the tracks has the strength to put her cheating boyfriend to the curb and escape her family's trashy reputation in a small town. Eight years later Heller returns, successful in her field - NASCAR racing mechanics, as well as wealthy from her inventions. Unfortunately, there is a series of escalating, dangerous events, proving that someone is unhappy with her return. Sheriff Tyler Forrester has his hands full keeping Heller safe and out of trouble. Having grown up without discipline or boundaries, Tyler's steadfast rules about her safety appeal to Heller - in theory. But when she ends up over Tyler's knee for reckless speeding, she finds it difficult to remember in the moment why she agreed to this arrangement in the first place. However, Tyler's strength and love comfort her, even as the rest of her world implodes with attacks against her and those around her. This book is well-written, with deeply developed characters and storylines. Both the love scenes and discipline scenes are moderate. The hero and heroine are both strong, intelligent people with integrity. I enjoyed reading every minute of it, and look forward to Ms. Starr's next novel. I loved this book. Heller moved away to have a chance at life and made a good deal of money as a great mechanic . this book is full of twists and turns and mystery. The one constant is Tyler the sherriff. He loves her and disciplines her when she needs it. NO matter what. this story is delightful and keeps you reading right until the end. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and love the strength of tyler to take care of this feisty little women who has fought for everything she has gotten

Surprisingly Good!!!!

I have read some Dd books that were completely boring. Not this one. I really liked Heller. She was strong, independent, smart, and she always stood up for herself. She didn't cave. Yet, she allowed Tyler to take the lead, and allowed herself to lean on him.

This book was about domestic discipline, but that was just part of the story. It was also a pretty good mystery, suspense romance with some danger thrown in to add to the excitement. This book was a little longer, which I thought was great! You actually got a chance to really get to know the characters. Poor Heller had so much going on, I was exhausted for her.

I do recommend this book unless you are offended by the consensual spanking of adult women. If you are, leave this alone.

"Heller" was absolutely heavenly to read!!

As usual, Mariella Starr's books grab my attention from the very first page. They are also a nice long length, so that you get an excellent look into all of the characters and totally wrapped up in their story!! Heller was a fantastic heroine! Tough, feisty, sassy, a super mechanic and excelled at her work! She also let her temper get the best of her sometimes, and wasn't always the safest...Enter here, Sheriff Tyler! He knows just how to love and "calm" our Heller!! They make a great couple and the other characters leave you wanting to cheer them on, or strangle them!! An absolutely fantastic read!
