Overview

Locked safely away in Shepherd’s nest, Claire is unaware of what stirs above ground. Her time is occupied fighting a war of another kind. Due to her mate’s relentless exploitation of their pair-bond, the nature of their link has grown consuming to the point that Claire has difficulty differentiating where her feelings begin and his end.

Under its influence, she’s forced to sense the man behind the monster. She can feel the truth of his terrible history. Claire can see the source of madness that drives Shepherd to do such terrible things: Svana.

His mate is desperate to open his eyes, but no matter Claire’s progress, Svana is not yet done with him.

Thólos is coming apart at the seams, and Shepherd’s men can do nothing to stop it. Real war is coming, and unless the Alpha tyrant is willing to pay the ultimate price, everything he has sacrificed will have been for nothing.

Reborn, the final installment in Addison Cain’s bestselling Alpha’s Claim trilogy, is a dark Omegaverse tale with explicit sexual themes and complete power exchange. This is not your typical romance with an HEA. If such material offends you, please do not purchase.

Beautiful powerful voice bad executed ending

It it with great sadness that I write this. MS. Cain has a powerful voice and raw writing, however, the ending of this series is not and ending and it's a shame this was not disclosed. I understand her fans love anything she writes, but, what she did to this trilogy and "her later announcement to a select few" that the end is not the end is just not respectful to the reader. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Something went wrong in the process.

IT IS EASY TO LOVE YOUR FRIEND, BUT SOMETIMES THE HARDEST LESSON TO LEARN IS TO LOVE YOUR ENEMY.

I have been so caught up in this engaging saga, Alpha Claim, and even when other readers and reviewers are mad at the ending, I found it brilliant and do not believe it is the end of Claire and Shepherd. I think we will see them again in the new series, Alpha Control. Or at least I sure hope we do.

Claire is nesting, preparing for the birth of their son, and she has made concessions with Shepherd. “Something felt wrong, but life was wrong, the resistance had been wrong, and it was time to put faith in something new.” Shepherd has a duty to uphold to the Followers, but there is no doubt he truly loves Claire, his mate. “An animal roar, a thing of great violence ripped past the Alpha’s lips. ‘Every last thing I have done, EVERYTHING, has been for your benefit—even knowing my actions cost me your favor. THAT IS WHAT A WORTHY ALPHA DOES FOR HIS MATE!’” But then there is Svana, who is referred to as his beloved. She is as evil as they come and upholds that status in this third story. Corday is caught between a rock and a hard place with wanting what is best for the people of Thólos and trying to rescue Claire from Shepherd. “Neither was at peace, each of them raw from battle.”

Claire had fought her pair-bond.
Claire had stormed against her mate to free the Omegas.
Through her flyer, Claire made herself a beacon and a movement.
She did it with no support.
She did it knowing it would cost her her life.

The plot will keep you on the edge of your seat as this story stays in constant suspense. The characters are a diverse group of Alpha, Beta, and Omega, and waging war and fear with the threat of the virus, Red Consumption, being released on the people. The story is a power struggle and even among those who are called Followers, there are traitors in their ranks. The ending of this story is more of a cliffhanger, even though years have passed and Claire is told that Shepherd dies during the siege, and then Claire died, but there is no proof of her body, I think this is not the end. Especially when you read that they are a new series called Alpha Control. I look forward to reading more by Addison Cain.

“Engage people with what they expect; it is what they are able to discern and confirms their projections. It settles them into predictable patterns of response, occupying their minds while you wait for the extraordinary moments—that which they cannot anticipate. –Sun Tzu”

Only an amazing author can bring out such extreme emotions

!Spoiler Alert!!
I don't know how to review this story without alluding to the ending.
I am so angry and upset... and grateful. This book, and this series, has ripped me apart, put me back together again, and then left me broken and sad. But only an amazing author can pull that amount of emotion out of a reader. Personally, I read books to escape reality; I want the HEA, the love will always win in the end fantasy. This book DID NOT give me that. I feel like I lost friends. I feel cheated and robbed. I'm giving the book 4 stars because the story telling was brilliant. It turns out, it just wasn't my kind of story.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
