I think this book had the potential to be a great story. The characters names are mixed up several times or even changed. I also felt that the ending was unfinished.

This one was a little disappointing to me. I felt the storyline and plot could have made for a great read.I read this book in a very short period of time. I found so much to be missing and so rushed. The female character ran away from a controlling forced marriage to only enter an immediate marriage with someone she knew for a short period of time.I didnt see the difference in the two situations. Spankings were few and no follow up mention of them after they happened. After the first spanking the female character deliberately caused an incident for another- why? There was some grammar and word usage problems.names were changed and misused. Did find myself more interested towards end of book.the plot seemed to increase and become more interesting. Wished it had been longer and more time developing the plot and storyline. Wasnt one of my favorites but I will read other books by author

Anna is desperate to get away from her soon to be fiance. She makes a decision that is risky and life changing. She has to pay the consequences for her deceit and live up to the expectation of the lies she told. In the end she finds true love but not before she has to deal with life's obstacles. I really enjoyed this adventerous story. I do feel the author could have made it a little longer to add the depth it needed to be a great story.

Very, very good historical romance with lots of wonderful characters that all are in dire need of discipline from time to time. Lots of action and suspence that really keep you wanting to turn the opage to find out what is going to happen next.

I always like historical romances and this one was a good story, with plenty happening from start to finish. Hank was a strict disciplinarian but he was loving and protective and his actions were always done with Anna's safety in mind, the safety of the whole group really. Anna who has had a sheltered life up to this point, finds out when given the opportunity that she can rise up to the challenges of life on the trail, that she can pull her weight and be part of a hard working community. She develops as a person and finds out who she can be. As others have said, yes, the ending was alittle abrupt and could have been explained better but the story held my interest the whole way through so I don't mind so much. And, yes, there were editing problems running through it, including wrong names being used occasionally but unfortunately this seems to be a common problem. I still really enjoyed it and would recommend this book to others.

This was a really good book. However, I had got a little frustrated with the repeated use of the main characters whole, Hank Wade, and then his name became Frank Wade, for a few paragraphs. Beyond that issue, overall, I really did enjoy the story line.

This was a fast paced, very well written story about a young woman who sneaks onto a wagon train in order to avoid marriage to an odious man. It had everything going for it - great characters, an interesting plot, more than one bad guy - but the abrupt ending totally ruined my enjoyment of this story. After the heart pounding action between Anna and Ned, it just...ended with a few very unsatisfying paragraphs. That, along with many annoying editing errors (Hand was called Frank and Wade several times, Ned was Nate, and Anna and Sarah were mixed up more than once) I have to give this a 2 star rating. I am glad that I only paid half-price for this story.

Good read. I really enjoyed the relationship between Hank and Anna. He was very firm because he had to be but he loved her and was protective. I also liked the dynamic with Hank's sister Sarah. It needed a better ending though.

I enjoyed this story. So much so I could not put it down. It had everything a good book needed; romance, suspense and a willful girl.

This is a good story about Anna, who runs from an arranged marriage onto a wagon train headed west and into the arms of the no nonsense wagon master. Hank offers to marry Anna when her so called fiance shows up to bring her back home. Their adventure is full of obstacles that challenge everyone and Hank has no issues taking Anna or his sister Sarah over his knee for a lesson in obedience. This story is very realistic and heart-stopping at times. My one issue is that the ending is very abrupt

This is a great historical novel with plenty of romance and action and of course spankings. The characters are all wonderful even the extras who are on the wagon train and the villian was well written too. Excellent job.

Very Good Book, love Historical ROmances, was greatly intrigued by the life in the wagon train, has suspense, too, great over all story, loved the relationship between brother and sister, as well as husband and wife, they were separate, of course, but I favor these type stories more than others, because it is love and discipline shown more than just in one way, with one loved one, you get to consider other relationships.

I absolutely love these old fashioned stories. What a brave young woman to run away from a horrible situation. I often find myself guessing how in the world the author is going to end such a perfect story. This has to be one of the best endings yet!

This is a very good story about a girl who runs away from a bad situation only to land in even more hot water when the trail boss discovers she lied about being a cook. Plus it doesn't help that being obedient doesn't come naturally to her so she seems to always having to learn things the hard way.

I loved this story when I read it on the Woodshed, and my enjoyment of it didn't lessen when I read it here, however, I truly purchased the book because I thought it would be completed here, and was highly disappointed to have it end in the same place it did on the Woodshed. Where's the rest of the story?? Come on Fiona, you can't let it end there. There has to be more to the story. This book should have gotten 5 stars, but I only gave it 4 because of my disappointment in the ending!

Great little western. I liked how our heroine got away from (one kind) trouble by saying she was the lady they were expecting to help cook for the wagon train, but landed in another kindof trouble! Of course she is found out by the hero of the story, and then come lots of lessons to be learned!
