On the outside looking in for years, Angela Hixson thinks she knows what the BDSM club scene and lifestyle are all about from watching her friends with their dominant husbands and attending "Little Black Dress" Nights in the lounge at Club Decadence. But when her boss tags her to go undercover as bait for a serial killer at a BDSM club in LA, she learns she has no idea what being submissive really means.

Partnered with Antonio "Lil T" Minelli, sexy as hell ex-Green Beret turned security and covert ops specialist for Rossi Security, and the last available Decadence Master, Angie must guard her heart or risk losing it to the one man who has the power to make her kneel in surrender. He is also a man who has made no secret that marriage, family and love aren't for him. Instead, having sworn off relationships beyond the walls of his club, he meets his needs with an available, willing submissive, making it clear up front not to expect more than an unforgettable night.

Thrown together again and again, at work, at play, and in near constant emotionally charged situations, Angie and Lil T fight their attraction, but succumb to their undeniable desire. The chemistry between them is explosive, as is the sex. As Angie falls under the spell of his expertly wielded flogger, her fears come to fruition when she realizes she's lost her heart and given her love to a man who swears he doesn't have it in him to give in return. In time, she sees past the fun loving, player exterior to the tortured man beneath. Can she convince him to take a chance, to entrust his damaged heart into her loving hands and try again? Or will he reinforce the shields he's built over the past decade and push her away, losing her forever?

What About Love is the final installment in the Club Decadence series. Catch up with old friends in this fast paced, action packed story, full of as much BDSM adventure and romance as the others in Maddie Taylor's popular series.

Prologue

A mewling cry like that of a wounded animal startled him out of a light sleep. Instantly alert, his weary eyes shifted to the pretty brunette in the bed. Usually radiant, her skin glowing a healthy golden brown from the kiss of the Texas sun, she was ashen, nearing the stark whiteness of the pillow beneath her head. Her perfectly arched brows were gathered in a frown as her dry, colorless lips parted on another soft whimper. Clearly, she was in pain. He pressed the call light for the nurse and waited, wishing fervently he could do more.

In frustration, T’s hands rose, fingers splayed as he readied to spear them through his hair as was his habit, but the bloodstains on his cuffsher bloodmade him pause. Once saturated, the material had dried hard and rough, stained to a rust color. As he stared at it, he remembered the hopelessness he felt as he pressed his hands over the seeping wound left by the knife in her chest. Unable to staunch the flow, he’d been powerless to do more than pray for her survival as Angie Hixson’s life essence leached out, oozing up through his fingers.

His hands curled into fists, wanting to hurt the man who’d done this to her. As Richard Stapleton’s image appeared in his mind’s eye, the stains on his hands changed from Angie’s to her attacker’s as he beat him to a bloody pulp. Antonio Minelli, more often known as Lil T to his teammates, simply T to friends, was more than capable of snapping the worm’s neck. A decade in the Special Forces had trained him to kill, hardened him and taught him to be ruthless, yet the sight of the helpless woman in the bed made all of that unnecessary. Combined with a need for retribution on her behalf, he had sufficient rage and an instinctive carnality, to make it happen effortlessly. Stapleton was going to pay for this.

An alarm went off, jerking him out of his bloodthirsty plotting of revenge and putting him on instant alert. It was the heart monitor above Angie’s bed, screeching in warning that her pulse rate had spiked to one-eighty. A nurse ran in, her attention immediately zeroed in on the flashing display. Without hesitation, she rushed to the bedside, checked the pulse at Angie’s throat for several seconds, and then proceeded to punch her in the middle of her chest with the side of her fist.

“What the fuck?” T roared, surging to his feet.

“Procedure, sir. She was in V-tach.”

“The hell with procedure. You hit her!”

“And it worked,” she replied, calmly nodding to the monitor, her other hand taking Angie’s pulse again. “Normal sinus rhythm, she converted.” The nurse checked her pupils with a penlight and listened to her lungs. She took a few moments to scrutinize the screen and print out an EKG strip while jotting notes on her paper. In a hurry, she murmured, “I need to page her doctor. I’ll be back.”

“Not if you’re going to beat the shit out of her, woman,” he called after her as she rushed passed Sean and Mara who were standing just inside the doorway watching.

“Did you see that shit?” T demanded of Sean.

“She saved her from going into cardiac arrest, bud. She’s right. It’s standard procedure.”

He regarded Sean, his unit’s medic for over ten years, he would know. T flopped back into the chair that he’d been camped out in for forty-eight hours, his worried gaze locked on Angie’s pale face. Despite the hearty blow the nurse had given her, she hadn’t flinched.

“Why isn’t she waking up? That punch to her chest should have done the trick if she were able.”

“She lost a lot of blood, T.” Sean jerked his chin to indicate the IV where the fifth or sixth unit of blood, at least, was slowly infusing. “They’re still transfusing so she’s not where she should be quite yet. This coma isn’t necessarily a bad thing, either. It allows her traumatized body to regenerate and heal.”

Mara walked to his side and placed her hand on his shoulder, giving it a squeeze. “We’ll stay with her for a while, T. Why don’t you go home, shower and try to get a little rest.”

“I couldn’t sleep. What if she wakes up or”

“There isn’t going to be an “or,” Mara assured him, glancing toward Sean with concern. “How about some coffee or something to eat?”

“Coffee would be good, darlin’,” he said raggedly, dead tired. “Thanks.”

“No problem.” As she prepared to go, he heard her whisper to her husband. “I’ll go, Lucky, you stay with him.” She then stood on her toes and gave him a soft kiss on the lips.

His friend’s sweet subbie wife was back, and T was glad for it. They’d both been through hell, her especially, and they deserved some happiness. As did the rest of his team who had one after another found their ‘one’ since coming home from war. Regrettably, he also had to watch as each man and his woman had suffered some unspeakable tragedy before finding their happiness. For Cap, it had come when Megan had been kidnapped and held for almost a day, tied to a chair so tightly that she had lingering nerve damage affecting her hands. The sensation had come back, though not all the way, but there continued to be slow improvement.

Rick’s situation had been similar, when Regan had taken up residence over a drug dealer’s operation. She’d also been held at gunpoint, her street smarts saving her and another innocent target. Elena’s case had been worse, with two cartel dealers coming after her in revenge. Dex and the team had taken them out, but not before the leader had gotten one lash in, leaving Elena cut and bleeding.

Jonas’ fiance Lexie had almost bought it when in the wrong place at the wrong time, she’d been shot and left to bleed to death. He’d been on his way back from Laredo with Jonas when they’d gotten word of the shooting at her clinic. Jonas had nearly lost it, trapped in a car two hours away while the woman he loved battled for her life. It had been a very near thing. Mara had also been there that day, taking two bullets, one shattering a bone in her leg, the other in her gut with her losing a lot of blood. That made five out of five owners whose women had been taken or harmed by the cartel. Thank God they had been shut down. Victor Mendoza was no longer a threat, thanks to Sean’s well-placed bullet between his eyes. That was two days ago and they thought it was over. Now Angie hung onto life by her fingernails.

The difference in this case, Angie wasn’t T’s woman.

He shifted, his attention returning to the feisty police detective who had, in a very short time, gotten under his skin. He wasn’t sure why. She swore she wasn’t submissive, but as vanilla as they come, yet he saw shades of something else buried deep. Tall and curvy, which he liked, beyond that she wasn’t his usual type at all. He liked sexually adventurous yet submissive women, willing to try whatever he wanted: toys, bondage, erotic pain, mnage, or group play. The running joke at the club among the submissivesalthough none would dare say it to his facewas that he was a try-sexual, willing to try anything. He saw nothing wrong with that, always pleasing his partner, or partners, and making it clear from the beginning that he was in it for the play, nothing more. Though he’d turned thirty-one last month, he was still young and busily sowing his wild oats.

His friends, all older than him, used to be the same way. Topping a bevy of different subs, pushing the limits of BDSM play, especially in the daring clubs in Europe when they’d been on leave. In the past few years, however, they’d all settled down into monogamousor what he called monotonousrelationships, ready to kick the ass of another Dom that dared look their sub’s way. He got that. If he had a steady woman, he’d be protective too. That’s why he usually limited one-on-one encounters to a single night, or engaged in threesomes and group play. There was no risk of attachment that way, no commitment, no strings or ties, no matter how silken they might be. He planned to keep it that way, too.

A soft groan from the bed drew him instantly to her side.

Hazy green flecked brown eyes blinked up at him. Her voice was a dry rasp and reedy thin as she managed one shaky word. “Hurts.”

“I know, darlin’,” T murmured as he leaned over her, stroking her hair back. He wanted to take the pain away and see her back to her usual vibrant self. “Try to lie still. The nurse will be back in a minute and we’ll ask her about something for pain.”

Clearly puzzled, her brows knitted together and she glanced around. “Where?” she croaked. “How?”

“You’re in the hospital. You were injured.”

Her eyes flew wide and shifted to him. “T. My god! It was Stapleton at the courthouse. He stabbed me.” She tried to sit up, but fell back, hissing as her hand pressed against the bulky bandage over the knife wound in her side.

“Easy, darlin’. Lie still or you’ll hurt yourself further.” He turned to Sean and demanded, “Go see what’s keeping the nurse.”

His friend nodded and at once, was on the move and out the door.

The few words she uttered and the movement, or maybe it was the pain, seemed too much for her as she slowly lapsed into unconsciousness once more. Right before she drifted away, she murmured in words almost too soft to make out, “You and Sean, you saved me. I remember”

T would never forget holding her hand in the ambulance when her heart stopped, pressing the wad of blood soaked gauze to her gushing wound as Sean started CPR, or being pushed aside as the emergency room personnel took over, listening to Sean, who was still giving compressions, recap her status as they wheeled her into a trauma room. The images, sounds and smells of that awful time were all imprinted in his permanent memory.

There was something else etched in his mind and emblazoned on his heart from that day.

“Now I’ll never know what it would have been like to love you.”

To hear the heartfelt regret murmured in what she surely thought were her last words on this earth, expressing feelings for him that were so profound, she felt the need to share them as her life slipped away yanked at his icy heart. It was worse that she was right. She wouldn’t ever get a chance to know, even when she recovered because he couldn’t go there with her.

Angie Hixson and Antonio Minelli would never work. She wanted more than he could ever give. She’d told him once that she was interested in more than merely playing with him. She wanted the whole package: a husband, 2.5 kids, a big dog, a house with a huge grassy yard, and the requisite white picket fence. That was for Angie and his friends, not him. Not after

He shook off the bitter memories that gnawed at his psyche like a festering wound. The past would stay in the past, and Angie would need to stay at arm’s length. He couldn’t ever go there again. It had nearly destroyed him the first time, and he’d sworn to never let anyone get that close again.

Leaning forward, he pressed his lips to her forehead. “I’m sorry, baby. You deserve your dream, but it will have to come from someone that can love you better than me.”

With one last caressthe backs of his fingers brushing down her cheek, his forefinger tracing along her jawline and over the fullness of her lipsand one final lingering look, he said goodbye, ignoring Sean’s call and the pain in his gut as he walked away.

Chapter One

Three months later

Movement and gunshots off to her left had her twisting and returning fire. She lined up a shot as one of the gunmen ran toward the alley across the street. She fired again. Wide left, another missdammit! She ducked, running quickly to the brick half-wall up ahead. Crouching low, she took a deep breath, preparing to fire over the top. Tires squealed as a car took the nearby corner on two wheels and came racing down the street toward her.

Her heart pounded in her ears as she waited. On one, she planned silently, threetwoone. She popped up and fired again.

The tires, take out the tires, her trainer’s voice seemed to scream in her head.

Moving objects always kicked her ass. So, when she took aim, she prayed that of the four bullets left in her clip at least one of them would find rubber and take out the car.

A quartet of reverberating shots later, she reached for her second clip right as a buzzer blared and lights came on overhead. She watched in frustration as the hologram flickered and disappeared. Shit! Not getting to the second clip meant she’d failed, again.

Licking her lips nervously, she peered up at the control room where she knew she’d find Dan Ogilvie, her instructor. She grimaced seeing he wasn’t alone at the wide window. Side-by-side he stood with Cap Rossi, owner of Rossi Security, Inc., her new boss. Crap! Both big men stood with their arms crossed, staring down at her. Not a good sign.

Dan shifted forward and the intercom came on. “Stow your gear and come up for review, rookie.”

She wanted to scream with her frustration. This was the twelfth time she’d run this simulation, and each time she’d failed miserably. Stationary shootingshort and long range, AR15, M16, Ruger Mini-14, low light, no lightif her target was standing still, all pretty as you please, she could nail it, dead to rights. If it was moving, however, well, as Dan had so eloquently put it several times, she couldn’t hit the broad side of a slow moving Hummer, with four flat tires, running on fumes while driven by his eighty-nine year-old cataract riddled grandmother.

In his early forties, Dan, or Dano as everyone called him, was usually patient and unflappable. It was one of the reasons Cap had selected him as a Rossi trainer. That wasn’t the case when it came to the simulator and Angie, both of which had him at his wits’ end. He’d spent hours with her, trying first one technique, which failed, then another, also unsuccessful. He’d consulted with Cap about it, but the boss didn’t seem worried, stating Lil T could fix her when he got back. That’s when she’d learned that T had been tagged first to train her. Out of town when she’d come on board with Rossi, T having taken over bounty cases for the newly married and honeymooning Dex Russell, Cap instead assigned Dan to instruct her in the “Rossi way”, which suited Angie just fine.

Although she owed T her life, having a handquite literallyin keeping her from bleeding to death that awful day she’d been stabbed, before that, they’d had a weird sexual tension. Mostly on Angie’s part who had a not so unusual sexual response to the drop dead gorgeous Italian man. From the moment she laid eyes on him, her girl parts had awakened and demanded attention. The fact he’d propositioned her to play with him at the club, thinking her a submissive of all things and finding her attractive enough to offer, hadn’t diminished those feelings.

T on the other hand ran hot and cold. She didn’t understand the man. One moment being sexy and charming, the next scrutinizing her as if she was a bug under a microscope. And he’d been at the hospital. Though the memory was foggy, she knew for certain it had been him. Mara had confirmed it for her. He’d kissed her forehead and touched her cheek tenderly, hadn’t he? Mara hadn’t been there when he said goodbye so it could have been merely a pleasant morphine induced dream. He basically disappeared after that, work ostensibly taking him out of town, except to Angie, it seemed manufactured, like he was avoiding her.

So, with T unavailable, being assigned to Dan was a good thing.

Looking up at him now, his face grim with disappointment, she heaved a sigh and slowly climbed the stairs to face the music.

“You took out the five year old with the ice cream cone again, Hixson,” Dan admonished as she opened the door. “And the priest, you put a bullet in his chest, while the thug with the facial tattoos and the assault rifle, him you let mosey on down the street like he had corn for sale.”

“Yeah, but he had such a nice smile.” Imprudent, sure. Nevertheless, she couldn’t resist a smartass remark to lighten the mood.

Dan’s face flushed so red that she thought his head was going to explode. “Ten minutes with a paddle, Cap,” he ground out, “that’s all I’m asking.”

“I think, my friend, that you’re about to get your wish.”

Her eyes darted to her boss, surely he wouldn’t allow Dan to spank her. They were Doms, but this wasn’t the club, and she for damn sure wasn’t a submissive. Cap’s somber expression implied that he probably would.

Quickly, she apologized. “I’m sorry for being flip. It’s out of frustration. I’ll work harder.”

“You’ll get it. You’re not the only one who’s had trouble with the simulator.”

Hearing that, Dan shot Cap a surprised glance as if to ask “who?” which told Angie he was humoring her for some reason.

“Sit down.” He pulled out a black leather chair for her and waited.

Dragging her feet, the death knell of her career ringing ominously in her ears, she sat where he indicated. She wasn’t going back to the force. Maybe she’d get her P.I. license as she’d originally planned prior to coming to Rossi. Mentally adding up expenses versus her dwindling savings account, she waited for Cap to give her the ax.

“I’ve got an assignment for you, Angie.”

Her head shot up in surprise. “Anything, sir,” she blurted out, ready to show him he hadn’t made a mistake by hiring her.

Cap’s lips quirked at her eager response. “Hang on, now. I want you to go into this with both eyes wide open. This particular mission requires some special training, some of which you might find objectionable.”

She frowned. When she’d taken this job, she’d learned what Rossi was all about. Sure, they took bounty cases, skips as they called them, hunting down fugitives who’d jumped bail. They also did personal protection, surveillance, security consultations and installation of alarm systems for sensitive businesses. What she didn’t know until coming on board was that on occasion they also took government contracts, most of which were dangerous, like the two year Mendoza Cartel investigation. In addition, some were covert operations, referred to by Cap as black ops, which were under the radar operations wholly funded by the government. If things went wrong, or right for that matter, Washington fully denied it and claimed the mission to be unsanctioned. He’d sworn at the time that black ops missions were exclusively managed by their elite teamthe six owners and a few specially trained ex-military operatives, which included two former Navy Seals, an Army Ranger and three ex-Marines. He also said they were scaling back on those types of cases, considerably. Mendoza an exception because it was personal and happening in their own backyard, so to speak.

Now she wondered what special training he was speaking of, but it didn’t really matter. She’d signed on with Rossi because she wanted a challenge, tired of the bullshit and corruption at the SAPD. She also wanted to be treated as an equal among the highly-trained Rossi men, which had not been the case at the department. Although a detective, she’d never been one of the guys, thrown a bone here and there to keep her quiet, the high-profile cases having gone to the men. She’d been involved with the Mendoza investigation solely due to Capdemanding from more powerful men than Stapletonthat she be a part of the task-force, leaving the chief no choice except to comply. She had the opportunity, in light of her dismal performance just now, to prove she was deserving of a place on Cap’s team. Whatever it was, she’d do it.

“I’ll do whatever it takes, Cap.”

His brown eyes glimmered, clearly amused by her enthusiasm. “Although I appreciate your eagerness, and it’s true that you’re the only one on my staff with the unique attributes for this assignment, you probably want to wait and hear what it entails first.”

Having delivered his fugitive into police custody, T arrived at Rossi to check in. Three months on the road reminded him too much of the service, being on duty and staying alert constantly. He’d also forgotten how exhausting living out of his SUV could be, or the endless barrage of cheap motels and greasy spoons. He was glad to be home.

As he walked down the hallway, he noted the timehalf past four. The place looked deserted. Although not a typical nine-to-five business, he was surprised there was no one around other than the receptionist. Everyone else must be in the field, which meant business was booming, not a bad thing at all. He headed for the surveillance room knowing someone would be there.

Rick Spencer was pulling his time, which they all did by rotation, no one able to stand it on a routine basis except Jack their full-time night-shift man. He blew through the door, though his former chiefsecond-in-command to Capdidn’t flinch.

“Saw you come in, man. Welcome back.”

T grunted as he flopped into one of the high back, swivel chairs while surveying the wall of high definition monitors. Rick reached out and punched a button on one, time stamping something he’d found notable and entering it into the surveillance log. While surveying the screens constantly, he asked, “Productive trip?”

“Collected three skips the first month; they were a breeze. The last one had half a brain and gave me a run for my money. It was a nice change.” T scanned the locations on the screens. Megan’s bakery, Club Decadence and the downtown clinic where Jonas’ sub Lexie worked were under constant surveillance. There were a dozen other live feeds for ongoing cases at various locations around the city under 24-hour watchRick brought him up to speed on thosethe rest of the monitors captured Rossi entrances and key areas.

“Who did you piss off to get surveillance midweek?”

Rick laughed. “No one. I’m putting in my time now before the baby is born. Once he’s here, I’ll be scarce for a while.”

“It’s that time, huh?”

“Yep, and not a minute too soon for Regan. She’s miserable.”

“As little as she is, I imagine she looks like a beach ball with legs about now.”

Rick made a face, clearly a touchy subject. “Don’t let her hear you say that. Not if you want to live to see daylight.”

“So, it’s a boy.”

“Yep, got documented evidence of the little guy’s ‘little guy’ a few weeks back. It looked like a finger on that ultrasound photo, but I took their word for it.”

“Happy for you and Regan, man. You deserve it.”

“Thanks, bud. After all we’ve been through, we feel blessed.”

T was still grinning at the notion that Rick’s full-term pregnant wife posed any kind of threat when movement on the firing range caught his eye. Reaching out to the touch screen, he zoomed in on the shooter. “Is that Angie Hixson?”

Rick’s affirmative grunt was his answer as he time stamped action on another feed.

T watched for a few minutes as she fired a rifle, short range. “She’s good,” he murmured.

“Yeah,” Rick huffed, glancing briefly at the feed. “As long as the bad guys stand still while she shoots. Otherwise, she couldn’t hit a slow moving train with a grenade launcher.”

“Since when do we offer private lessons to the SAPD?”

Shifting his concentration briefly, Rick looked at T for an instant, before refocusing on the monitors and resuming his constant scanning. “You haven’t heard? She quit the force and works for Rossi now.”

“Doing what?” T frowned, not liking some of the scenariosextremely dangerous onesthat immediately came to mind.

“Investigations mostly, that’s her strong suit, but with her experience and some additional training, well, who knows what else. You know we’ve needed a female operative every so often.”

“I suppose,” he grumbled, watching as she spoke with Dan Ogilvie, who had joined her on the range. “Dano’s her handler?”

“Yeah, Cap wanted you to train her and work on the problem with her aim, but with you wandering the southwest these past few months, Dano was tagged for the job.”

The munitions expert on their A-team for years with expertise in all manner of ordnance, including guns and explosives, training the FNG’s at Rossi had fallen to T. Training Angie was a whole other animal. Immediately, thoughts of her in his arms, popped into his head, his hard front pressed to her soft, rounded backside while teaching her to line up her sights. It morphed into an image of them in the gym, with her grappling with him on the mats as he taught her hand-to-hand maneuvers. In an easy take-down, he’d straddle her hips and leaned over her, enjoying the press of her full tits against his chest as he pinned her to the floor. He could almost feel her warm body against him as he held her immobilized, his much larger frame caging her as she wiggled and squirmed to get free. The brief fantasy was enough to make his dick hard and his balls tingle and ache.

Shifting in his seat, he acknowledged that he’d dodged a bullet by being unavailable. Glancing at the monitor, he saw her smiling up at Dan, then breaking into laughter, her hand coming out to squeeze the older man’s forearm as she bent forward, clearly amused by something her trainer had said.

She was beautiful, more so when she smiled. And her body... He panned down from her face, lingering over the tight t-shirt that conformed to every curve and the even tighter, body-hugging workout pants that molded to her shapely legs. Spandex, he’d bet money on it. Damn. His own pants had become excruciatingly tight. He stood abruptly, ready to get home and grab a cold shower.

“Heading to the club tonight?” Rick asked as T headed toward the door.

“Damn straight. Finding a sub on the road is a real bitch.”

Unconsciously, he adjusted his cock to a less strained position not registering his hand’s location until Rick’s amused snicker followed him out the door. He didn’t give a shit, an alternate plan formulating in his mind: head home, jerk off in the showeras he had for the past three months, except for the one time about six weeks in when he’d hooked up with a vanilla chick outside Lubbock, which was less than inspiring or satisfying, still he’d gotten his rocks offafter that he’d catch a few z’s and head to the club. Once there he’d find a willing subbie in need of a good long fucking and flogging, in that specific order. Usually he liked to build it, starting slow with at least an hour of torturous play until she was begging. His control was bound to be limited tonight, however, so his needs might have to come first, and maybe even twice, before his sub got hers.

His lust starved mind conjured up an image of a blue-eyed blonde, her long, glossy hair coiled like a rope around his wrist as he plunged relentlessly between her creamy thighs while she bent over in front of him. When she turned her head to look back over her shoulder, her imaginary blue eyes turned to a haunting hazel brown. In his fantasy, they glimmered with desire as her plump pink lips parted and the tip of her tongue slipped out, slicking along the lower curve.

Dream Angie whispered, “Fuck me harder, T,” as she spread wider for him, angling her hips so he could sink deeper into her warm, wet, welcoming pussy.

He reached down, squeezing his cock to keep from shooting off in his pants like a fo

Exclusive BDSM clubs and a company staffed with dominant males from a law enforcement or military background - be still my beating heart. Ms. Taylor is a new to me author I wish I picked up earlier. This book is the last installment in her Club Decadence series. It is also the only book in this series I have read. This can be easily read as a standalone. However, I believe reading the previous books in this series would make a more pleasurable experience. This is because there are characters from the previous books showing up in here. Ms. Taylor does a good job of a quick summary in reference to each character so it isn't too confusing for those who choose to read this book out of order. This book is a great romantic suspense. This is a two for one as readers experience a good suspense and a great romance. For those who are looking for an equal balance of the two genre, this book will do it for you. I am surprised at how good the suspense part is written. I am delighted to find out that the suspense part resolved, I still have a half the book to enjoy. I am delighted because this story goes on past the suspense and then focuses on the romance part between the two main characters. The character development in this story is well done. Angela Hixson is a jaded cop who busted open the corruption in her own department. Her department already against her for being a female, Angela makes the right move and joins the private sector. At Rossi Security, the rules are different. Angela finds her place with her first big case to hunt down a murderer kidnapping and killing submissives from a BDSM club. I liked Angela a lot. I did not like Antonio "Lil T". He is a rat bastard and does not deserve Angela. His treats Angela poorly and I do not understand how Angela can ever trust him. Three times he screwed her over. Three times he behaved abominably. There is no way I can fathom trusting him as a dominant. He is not trustworthy and this is one part of the book I did not enjoy. I felt badly for Angela each time. The BDSM in this story is mixed for me. From a glitterkink perspective, it works. I love the club. I enjoy the BDSM scenes. I loved the carousel. Now, keep in mind, I am a jaded reader and the lifestylers I am around are heavy into bloodplay and pretty much everything dangerous. This much alluded punishment carousel was a bit of a letdown as far as intensity. As for a fapping good time, the carousel will now feature in my dirty fantasies. I would be one of those submissives eagerly signed up on the volunteer sheet, waiting months until I could get a spin on it. I am glad Ms. Taylor used L.A. for the venue because the kink groups in L.A. are edgier than the ones in San Fran. I digress. I also enjoyed the BDSM mixed with work. This is totally wrong in many ways, but it works well for me. I realize in real life with my handy HR background, Rossi Security is a sexual harassment suit waiting to explode. Lucky for them they only employee males and one female. Still, the way T trains Angela is messed up. It does make for a very smoking hawt scene. Ladies, make sure your vibrators are charged up and ready to go for some of the ending sex scenes. So where was the disconnect making me wince? I did not like T as a dominant. Some of the things he said and did bothered me. Now from a realistic standpoint, T is probably pretty accurate of some real live dominants. None of them are perfect. T just grated on my nerves because for some reason, he thinks he is a really good dominant and he is not. Sure he admits he does not know ropes and would be willing to learn for Angela, but the way he behaves and treats Angela is not cool for me. Perhaps Ms. Taylor does this on purpose to show how twisted he is inside between his past and wanting Angela. I just know for me, T is a dominant I do not want to have anything to do with because he harms people emotionally. The ending does bring a rushed happily ever after. It does feel a little forced. The epilogue is nice as it brings all the different couples in this series together and shows how they triumphed over hardships. "Exclusive BDSM clubs and a company staffed with dominant males from a law enforcement or military background - be still my beating heart. I did not like Antonio ""Lil T"". This romantic suspense is recommended for kinky readers who enjoy maledom."

What a wonderful series! I have enjoyed each book and this book brings the series to a very fine close. However, I am sire there will be another series to follow on with perhaps a different name. The characters and theme are so well developed it would be a travesty to not continue. This full length book has some very sad moments and a lot of joy. For an alpha male, T can certainly be indecisive.

I felt bad when I got to the end, because it looks this is the last book of the series! I hope I’m wrong because I have read & loved all of this series and this one is no exception. T spent all his waking hours watching over Angie in the hospital hoping & waiting for her to wake up after her stabbing (which occurred at the end of the previous book), but T does not want to consider a relationship with her because he knows that Angie wants to marry and have kids in her future, which is not in T’s plans. When T returns from an assignment he discovers thing have changed; Angie now works for Rossi Security and due to Dan having to suddenly pull out, they are about to go undercover on a case together, with Angie posing as his sub in order to catch a kidnapper. This book will make you laugh (I loved Angie with her great shooting skills …. as long as her target isn’t moving!), it will tug at your desire for Angie and T to work everything out and it has mystery surrounding the case they’re working on. I definitely recommend this book (and all the previous ones), it has a great ending and a nice catch up of all the previous characters in the series. I received this as an ARC for an honest review.

Marvelous finish to this fantastic series. There was a terrific storyline with loads of action, a reunion with old friends and some new ones. I was getting angry at Lil T because he was on and off with Angie. He wants her, he doesn't want her and is driving her crazy with his behavior. Now I will be looking for the club in LA and perhaps the one in Washington DC. I just adored this series and the amazing characters from the brain of Maddie Taylor.

What a great read! So often this kind of book - one that is riddled with fabulously sexy D/s action and lots of explicit kinky descriptions - can’t really provide much structure or story, but this one has it all! Great characters - especially a strong, smart, funny leading lady who has a big heart and doesn’t know how gorgeous she is and a strong, Type-A dominant man who knows his way around women, guns and just about everything but his own emotions. Lil T is a career anti-monogamist who has sworn off relationships because of a mysterious past. Angie has had a crush on the gorgeous T since she first laid eyes on him - but knows he is not the forever man she is looking for. Problem is, they work together for his PI agency - and when girls start disappearing from Club Decadance - they need to go undercover together. Sparks fly between the two as they maneuver some dangerous territory both in their work and private lives. “What About Love” is a long one and its a page turner. I enjoyed every one of the over 200 pages. Highly recommend it if you like an exciting story with lots of spankings etc., a great twist and perfectly drawn characters. A

Superb! A very worthy culmination to this series. The plot is passionate intense and sometimes heartbreaking. It is a full length book and my only disappointment was that the series has ended.

Loved this story! I have read some of these Club Decadence stories, but not (yet) all of them. I can't wait, though!! They have all been so exciting and full of adventure...of many kinds! This one keeps up with all the rest - fantastic! The sex, spankings and everything else is too good to resist!

What a fabulous end to an absolutely spectacular series! I was so excited to read this book because finally Lil T was going to get his story and boy, what a wonderful story it is. I laughed, cheered, and actually had tears more than once! Very well written with a great plot that was full of adventure, love, romance and quite a bit of steam! It was great fun to catch up with all the characters again and I loved the epilogue. If you have not read this series you just don't know what you are missing! Seriously!! I am sorry to see the series come to an end but am looking forward to more installments in the 'Decadence Nights' and 'Decadence L.A.' series.

5 stars This was exciting with action and romance. It was erotic with sexually graphic scenes. It had enough to keep you reading and wanting more. Lil T was a messed up ex army guy that kept women at arm’s length. Angie is an ex detective that loved T but couldn’t stand being crushed by his constant refusal of feeling for her. The back and forth tension keep you wondering if they would ever get together. There are two missions that they are involved in both serious. I loved the story. It has a happy ending and there are no cliff hangers. There was bondage, anal play floggers and paddle. Nothing too extreme.

Ms Taylor does it again with this brilliant finish to the Club Decadence Series. T gives Angie a run for her money. He wants her, he doesn't, he wants her, he doesn't... Angie works for Rossi Security as an investigator and is assigned to investigate missing girls from Decadence LA. She is to go in as a submissive with Dan as her Dom but a family emergency prevents him and T is assigned. Then the sparks fly!! This is a very full story with adventure, mystery, action, fun, spankings and hot spicy steamy sex. The characters are well described human and real,(they could be your next door neighbor). It moves very quickly, a real page turner. The story also catches up with the lives of the other characters in this series. It finishes wonderfully with no unanswered questions. I hope Ms Taylor will have more from the Decadence Nights Series. I highly recommend this wonderful finish to a great series. I envy all who are starting to read this book or this series, you are for a great time.
