Melissa Toselli is a wild child with a troubled past. Having been on her own since she was fifteen she is desperate to find the one who will take her into his arms, heart, and control. She has a tendency to pick all the wrong men for all the wrong reasons.

Unbeknownst to Melissa she has caught Corbin's Bend newbie, Jason Donovan's, attention. The wild spitfire stirred something inside of him that he could not let go. He could see right through Melissa's devil may care attitude to the vulnerable child within who just needed someone to care for and watch out for her. She was crying out for some guidance; both the kind that would tuck her in at night and the kind that would take her over a knee for some much needed discipline and structure.

Can Jason give Melissa what she needs and tame the wild child that she is? Can he show her the way a true gentleman treats the woman he has feelings for? Will Melissa turn out to be too much for Jason to handle? Will she fall back into her old ways? Or will Jason and Melissa find exactly what they're looking for in each other?

About Corbin's Bend:

Welcome to Corbin's Bend, the first equity-cooperative housing development just for spankofiles. Thirty thousand acres in the mountains above Denver sits your dream come true. With 1000 home sites, several restaurants, a club house, theater, pool, and many other amenities, you will find yourself at home.

Corbin's Bend is the setting for a group of spanking romance novellas set in, where else? Corbin's Bend, Colorado. A fictitious housing cooperative, Corbin's Bend is unique in that everyone living there is into spanking, whether that be erotically or through domestic discipline. Just imagine, a place where nobody has to hide their particular spanking lifestyle.

While reading any series in order is nice, Corbin's Bend books can be read as stand-alones as well.

Chapter One

The music vibrated through Melissa’s body as she moved in time with the beat. Sticky heat permeated the air creating an inferno where her hair lay against her neck. Yanking it from where it lay, she hoped for some relief, but there was little to be had. Grinding against one person then the next, she paid no mind to anything or anyone else, allowing the music and alcohol to rule her. One minute she danced among the crowd, the next on a bar stool, so lost in the music she couldn’t remember climbing up. The crowd cheered her on as they handed shot after shot up to her, allowing their hands to linger on her legs inching their way beneath her dress. Tonight she didn’t care as long as she didn’t have to think or feel anything else. Throwing back a shot of the burning amber liquid, she allowed it to seep down her throat and into her veins, blocking out every single thing she was trying to escape.

The stool disappeared from beneath her feet. Without warning, she was pressed up against the chest of a greasy older man, his hands running free reign over her body. In an attempt to get away from him she turned, but he grasped her tightly around the waist before she could get free. His hard cock pressed against her ass as he murmured into her ear with sticky hot breath. “I’m going to give it to you good, baby,” he said, thrusting his cock harder against her ass.

No, she fought against the fog that consumed her brain, I don’t need this. Dancing away from him, she tried to get lost in the crowd. All she wanted was to feel the music coursing through her. Nothing else. Her vision started swimming, the room seeming to do circles around her. Queasiness tugged at the edges of her stomach just as the man yanked her back to him.

“Where do you think you’re going?” He leered at her. “We were just getting started.” He breathed hotly at her, rubbing down the front of her body. The room spun harder around her as she tried to pull her hands away. She needed to get to the he jerked her back to him again, and her stomach lurched. That was all it took. The next thing she knew she spewed vomit all over the creep’s shoes.

His face twisted in disgust. “You fucking bitch.” His hand curled cruelly in her hair holding her head away from him. Grabbing her arms in a bruising grip, he shoved her away from him. She landed face first on the ground. She was so drunk she couldn’t get herself upright again. Looking around for help, all she saw were faces leering at her, whispering to each other about the drunk girl who had just fallen on her face.

Wiping the remnants of vomit off of her face with the back of her hand across her mouth, she crawled over to the wall. Propping herself against it, the room stopped spinning so bad. I’m just going to close my eyes for one second. Everything went black.

* * * * *

Jason’s heart thumped in his chest at the sight of Melissa that filled his vision from across the dance floor. On his way home from a job he had in Denver a few minutes earlier, he caught sight of Melissa’s bright orange Camaro in the parking lot of the dance club next door. There was no mistaking her car, with the bright color and custom rims, as anyone else’s. His protective instincts had won out and he had gone in to check up on her.

Anger boiled in his veins as he witnessed some asshole’s hands all over his obviously well intoxicated friend. They had met several months earlier when he first moved into the community they both lived in. She was one of the first to greet him, bringing a coffee cake and offering to help him unpack. They were fast friends, and right now she was being man handled by some sleaze ball. There was little he could do with the sea of dancing bodies between him and Melissa.

Cursing, and stopping himself short of actually shoving people out of the way, he pushed his way through the crowd. When he emerged on the other side, Melissa was gone. Searching frantically, his heart thumping in his chest, he hoped fervently that she hadn’t gone home with that asshole. She had been doing so well. He wondered what on earth had happened to cause her to back peddle to this degree. Finally spotting her, a growl emitted from deep in his throat. She sat slumped in a heap against the wall on the sticky black floor.

Crouching next to her, he delicately brushed the long curly hair out of her face. “Melissa, what did you do to yourself?” He groaned inwardly. Still breathing, but passed out cold, she looked so small and vulnerable. Rage boiled anew in his veins. What was she thinking coming here alone and drinking so much? Something was going on and he was going to get to the bottom of it, but first he needed to get her out of this place and safe back home.

“Melissa, come on, sweetie. It’s time to get out of here.” Shaking her shoulder, he tried to rouse her, to no avail. He would just have to carry her out.

Her eyes fluttered open as he scooped her up. “Jason.” She smiled blearily up at him and snuggled into his neck. The next words she muttered, just before slumping back into a deep sleep, left him completely baffled. “I always knew you would be the one to rescue me.” His thoughts churned the whole ride home. Conflicting emotions pulled him this way and that. On one hand, he wanted to spank the living daylights out of her for putting herself into so much danger. On the other hand, he wanted to hold her in his arms the whole night just to reassure himself that she was breathing. Although they lived in a spanking community, they were just friends. Their relationship had never been like that. What he was feeling in this moment was anything but friendship. When he had seen her lying passed out in the club, his heart had almost exploded. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks. He loved her. He loved his beautiful friend.

Jason was not about to put his new found feelings on her, not tonight anyway. Melissa had never indicated that she felt anything but friendship toward him. Now was certainly not the time to burden her with his newly discovered feelings. She had been through too much as it was in the relationship department, she was young, and she was vulnerable. Giving himself a good shake, he made up his mind. He would not be pulling the rug out from under her by letting her know how he felt, but if he was given half a chance, he would be giving her a damn good spanking.

Worry tugged at the corner of his mind as his thoughts went to demons Melissa had alluded to when talking about her past. She had never gone into it much, and he hadn’t wanted to push. Something had led her into some deep trouble last year before he knew her. He knew that things had been rough for her, and she had worked hard to overcome it. He hoped those past demons hadn’t just caught up with her. One way or the other, he was going to figure out what was going on.

He woke her gently as they arrived at her house. Her eyes widened as awareness came back to her. Horror crossed her face as she fingered the puke that was still stuck to several strands of her hair. “Shh, it’s okay,” he assured.

“No, it isn’t,” she mumbled, her cheeks flaming as she dug keys out of her purse.

He took a deep breath to steady himself and blew it out. “No,” he said, “in all seriousness, it’s not. We really do need to talk about what happened tonight.” Plucking the keys from her hands, he walked around to her side of the truck. Opening the door, he scooped her into his arms once again.

Wriggling in his arms, she held herself as far from him as she could while he held on tight. “Pukey hair, remember?” She gasped, looking horrified.

“I don’t care a lick about the puke in your hair,” he said, looking directly into her molten chocolate brown eyes. He watched her cheeks flame anew at that.

Opening the door, he flipped on the lights illuminating a cozy room which was filled with rich colors and overstuffed furniture. There were shelves filled with books, blankets strewn across sofas and chairs, and lots of places to snuggle down. He glanced down at her in time to see the tremble of her lip before the carefully constructed mask fell back into place. “What do you want to talk to me about, Jason?”

Setting her down on the sofa, he sat next to her. He should probably let her sober up the rest of the way before having this conversation. Taking in the firm set of her jaw and ramrod straight line of her spine, she was obviously ready to have this out now. “What were you thinking, Melissa?” He started as gently as he could, but could feel all of his earlier emotions begin to boil again.

Melissa obviously felt them too because she immediately went on the defensive. Her eyes flashed. “You think there’s something wrong with going out dancing?”

He leveled his eyes on hers. “Is that really the stance you want to take right now?”

“Why not?” she spat. “I went out to have some fun. While I admit it got a little out of control, it’s over now. As you can see, I’m fine.”

His mouth dropped open in dismay. “A little out of control,” he sputtered. “Melissa, if I hadn’t found you, who knows what would have happened to you.” He clenched his fists. “You were passed out against a wall for God’s sake.”

“So what are you going to do about it?” she dared him.

Shock zinged through him as her words sunk in. He didn’t know what had gotten into his normally level-headed friend, but this was not a dare he was going to resist. “Melissa, so help me you are about to wind up panties down, bottom up over my knee if you don’t take this conversation seriously, starting now.”

“Oh, I’m taking it seriously, Jason,” she answered back, the fire gone from her voice. “I just think you’re exactly like everyone else in this community. You talk a big game, rushing in to rescue me, but you’re afraid to put your money where your mouth is and give me what I really need.”

Was she really daring him to spank her? Did she honestly think he wouldn’t follow through? His mind scrambled to keep up with the turn of events along with any potential ramifications, but there was no doubt in his mind that before this night was over she would be getting exactly what she asked for.

“Are you going to spank me or what?” she asked, a fierce bravado flashing in her eyes. He shook his head at the sheer courage she could muster at the blink of an eye. He stood, pulling her with him.

Crooking a finger under her chin, he lifted it so that he could look into her shining eyes. “Oh, I’m going to blister your bottom all right,” he said, lowering his voice, allowing the energy to sizzle between them for a few heartbeats. He ran his hands down her arms noticing the little shiver she gave at the contact. “But not yet.” He could see how desperately she needed to gather her thoughts. There would be no spanking until he determined that she was sober and in a better frame of mind. Turning her toward the bathroom, he gave her bottom a soft smack. “Take a shower. We’ll talk when you’re done.” She gave a little squeak, but headed in the direction he sent her.

I hate to say it, but I don’t like age play books – they’re just not my cup of tea. I really didn’t read the blurb before I started Melissa’s Saving Grace, but even if I had I’m not sure I would have picked up on the subtle suggestion within it that points to age play. Truth be told, I’m glad I didn’t because if I had this probably would have been the first Corbin’s Bend book I opted not to read and I would have missed out on a really great book otherwise. Ms. Alexander throws the reader in the deep end as we watch Melissa have what appears to be a bit of a breakdown in the middle of a night club – this scene was both sad and terrifying as I felt Melissa’s pain as well as the danger she faced when she passed out in the club while she was alone. Fortunately, Melissa owns a rather distinct vehicle and her friend Jason sees it in the club’s parking lot, goes in to check on her, and comes to her rescue. While still new to Corbin’s Bend, Jason has developed a close friendship with Melissa and the danger she put herself in upset him a lot, so when she mouths off about him spanking her he picks up the gauntlet – or should I say paddle – and proceeds to show her that he’s not afraid punishing her will ruin their friendship. The next day Jason does something I did not expect – he actually initiates the conversation with Melissa about how the spanking made him realize he wanted more from their relationship. I have to say that I really liked how the author approached the age play aspect. When it first appeared in the book, it occurred so subtly that neither I nor Melissa realized it was occurring. But when the subject is purposefully introduced, it occurs initially through Melissa’s researching the subject and primarily as conversations between her and Jason and not until about 75% into the book. Because the focus of the novella is on Melissa, her PTSD and related issues, and the Domestic Discipline relationship she is building with Jason, the age play is actually a very small element within the story and this made it easier for me to read. I loved the chemistry between Jason and Melissa and found their sex scenes to be very steamy. What really fascinated me was Melissa’s PTSD and how it affected her life. Despite the serious nature of this book, Ms. Alexander did manage to make me laugh in the scene when Melissa comes to the realization that there is nothing sexy about having one’s mouth washed out with soap. Although I did not enjoy all aspects of the book, I found Melissa’s Saving Grace to be a really good read and a great addition to Corbin’s Bend Season Three. I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Angela at Crystal's Many Reviewers!

Melissa is hurting and out of control but Jason seems well suited and ready to step in. And he will give her the structure and love she needs.

Another wonderful addition to the Corbin's Bend series!! As usual it takes place in the same community with some of our old familiar faces, but the story is as different and stand alone as can be! Such a great view into a person's past trauma and PTSD. I loved Melissa from the start, but I think I loved Jason's character even more!! He was all about helpful, loving guidance! Great, great story!!

I enjoyed this story. We meet Melissa and Jason in a previous story. Melissa has PTSD from surviving the accident that killed her parents. She has never really moved past their deaths. I don’t think Melissa was so much a wild child as she was a young adult. If she had been in college, this behavior would have been considered normal. But, because she was in Corbin’s Bend, she was out of control. Jason has been friends with Melissa for a long time when he realizes that he loves her. Because of that love, he decides to take her in hand. The book is well written and is wonderful addition to the Corbin’s Bend series. I give this 5 stars.

I loved this addition to the Corbin's Bend series where each book reads as a standalone. Jason Donovan is dominant, take charge, easy-going blue-collar worker, and single. Melissa Toselli is fighting demons and losing control trying to cope with the flashbacks and nightmares from the night her parents were killed when she was a teenager. Her reckless ways of underage drinking are taking her in a downward spiral of self-destruction. Jason and Melissa have developed a platonic friendship, but when he rescues her from being drunk and passed out, he knows she must be taken in hand, and he is just the man to do that job. The plot kept me captivated as we learn more about the PTSD Melissa is dealing with and the development of the relationship growing between Melissa and Jason. I found the dialog heartwarming, compassionate, but stern with love and understanding. It's always great to see the places and mention of Corbin Bend's residence in these books. We have the beginnings of an ageplay relationship that they decide to explore, but nothing really expounded on....but that is a great lead up to another story with this couple and their growing relationship and dynamics.

Melissa is a young woman struggling with the horrific memories of a car accident that took the lives of her parents. When the memories grip her deeply, she attempts to escape with activities that do nothing to help but often put her in danger. She moved to Corbin's Bend to pursue a lifestyle of Domestic Discipline but has yet to trust herself to open up to her true needs. When her friend, Jason, notices her organ Camaro outside a dance club, he finds her in a heap on the floor, drunk and disoriented, barely having escaped the clutches of a man who was determined to have his way. Their friendship is strong and this is the day that Jason moves past friendship to begin assuming the role of her HOH, something she not only has longed for, but desperately needs. Jason, with the help of Dr. Yu, begin the process of discovering ways to help the young woman deal with the consuming tragedy. As their relationship progresses, Melissa learns that her new love will never hesitate to turn her over his knees and roast her backside – especially when he catches her lying. He is just as quick to embrace her in his arms, tucking her into bed, and assuring her he will never leave. This book is a wonderful addition to the Corbin's Bends series of books. It is full of love and understanding. The only thing I wish is that it was longer as the two begin to step into a new dynamic – one of age-play that both wish to experience. I'd recommend to anyone

This book had me intrigued from page one! It's written very well with a believable plot and memorable characters. Melissa pulled on my heartstrings and I really just wanted to hug her, seriously. Jason had such compassion for Melissa along with a firm hand when necessary. Their journey to love was wonderful. Very nicely done!!

Melissa's Saving Grace by Corinne Alexander is a good read. This book takes place in Corbin's Bend a spanking community I'm not a fan DD that is shame based, this isn't. Here is a quote from the book the sums this book up " She didn’t feel ashamed when he disciplined her, just cared for. And the way he had rubbed the arnica on her bottom afterward. It had felt so good. It had turned her on, but more than that, it had made her feel safe" It was a good read. Two "notes" Could be triggering to someone with PTSD. Contains mild ageplay
