Loved this one by JK. A good romantic western with fun interesting characters. This author is very good with her descriptions. You truly get the feeling of small town life during this time period, and how folks thought back then. Has a touch of mystery to it as well. A good read and one I will go back to in the future.

Joannie Kay is one of my favorite authors and this story of Jenny and Alex is now one of my favorites. Great story, even better characters and Jenny and Alex are blessed with great friends who love and care about them.

I enjoyed this historical by Joannie Kay better than her last one, but still had a few issues with the hero. It felt very unrealistic and wrong even that he would spank her after she had almost been raped. I didn't blame her for being angry that everyone scolded her, and let the would-be-rapist go free! I also didn't like that Alex switched her so cruelly. He didn't respect her modesty or her very valid reasons for leaving without him. Trust should not be a given - he has to earn it! And spanking her in public was very disrespectful! I'm glad that many of the characters called him to task for thatI I liked that Alex admitted to his mistakes, though, and he truly seemed to value Jenny's bravery and love of life. There was some good twists in this one - plot lines that kept me guessing. And the secondary characters were wonderfully written. An enjoyable afternoon's read.

I love historical westerns and this one is no exception with some truly great charaters that make you want to keep reading to find out what is going to happen to them.

Very good historical western with plenty of action, mystery and romance to keep just about anyone happy. The characters are all great not just the main ones and the ghost is a great addition to the story.

This was a good romantic western as well as a mystery. I loved how the author described the life and the characters. The town seemed like a typical small western town. Jenny was a brat and needed a very strong hand. I am surprised that she didn't get herself killed before meeting her marshal. She was headstrong and didn't think and had a terrible temper. The rest of the story was easy to follow. Figuring out who the cattle rustlers were was interesting and I was surprised. It was a happy and good read. There were several red herrings thrown in to keep you guessing. Who was the reverend, who were the other bad guys that attacked her. All in all a good read with a happy ending. I love when the author makes you feel for the rest of the characters. The ghost angle was clever. I would have loved to see what happened to the ghost and if he really was happy with their marriage, did he continue to haunt the house etc.

This is very enjoyable romantic story, full of action. The plot is well-developed from beginning to end, the characters are well described also if Alex is a little too impulsive.

This was a very sweet story! Lots of action. I loved little Suzie and her sick father Peter. But I thought the hero was a bit of a bully. There were times he spanked Jenny when I don't think she deserved it. I'm glad she was happy to fall in love with him. I prefer a hero I can fall in love with, too. But well written and interesting, just the same.

I already love this author and this new one did not disappoint! This had a great romantic storyline, and very good, strong characters! And, as always, the story was long enough to let the story run completely through to the end! LOVED it!

Ms. Kay is a wonderful writer of westerns and full characters. Her female character expresses the vulnerabilities and strengths that most of us feel and experience. This story illustrates the best and worst parts of a small western town, love, gossip, intrigue, deceit and murder. Very enjoyable story.

Jenny feels bad for little Susie and gives away some candy. That simple act leads to all kinds of danger and drama. But it also helps bring Jenny and Alex together.
