This story takes place after World War II ended in England. With a 19-year-old, Lorette Gilday, who had lost both her parents and had been on her on since she was 17. She worked during the war in London and had a 6 week affair with Henry, an American soldier who then just disappeared. Word came that her great aunt had died and left her money and property to Lorette, which including a motel called The Wild Thyme. Lorette leaves England to move to The Wild Thyme which has fallen in disarray during the war. She is determined to restore it to its grandeur and it takes a bit to get the locals on board. A neighbor, Ben Markham, helps but not before he ends up taking Lorette in hand or should I say over the knee for her rude behavior. This story was well written, the description helped the reader see through the eyes of the author.&newline&&newline&Not to really nit-pic, but in the description it mentions Jake Elliott, and this story does not have a Jake Elliott, it has Ben Markham. But at one point in the story, during the time they are in her bedroom, she calls him Mr. Elliott. I believe the author changed names for this character.

At first I was outraged. A total stranger thinking he had a right to spank someone he just met. Who did he think he was her father or a family member no he wasn\'t. Husband or boyfriend nope to that to. &newline&But it was a very well done book otherwise. I very much enjoyed it.

A reader:

Lorette is still very young when she inherits a once-great hotel in rural England, but her experiences during the recent WWII years have formed her into a mature and headstrong young woman who is determined to restore the Wild Thyme Hotel to its former glory.&newline&&newline&Unfortunately for her, the hotel\'s caretakers and other villagers are still fairly old-fashioned when it comes to young ladies, believing that the best way to keep them in check is by giving them a soundly spanked bottom. And when she meets the handsome Ben, she soon discovers that he shares the locals\' values.&newline&&newline&This book is very well written and I especially enjoyed the location descriptions - they made me homesick for England myself - which is why I believe it\'s worthy of a 5 star rating.&newline&&newline&All the characters are developed, including the secondary ones, which is also something I enjoyed, and the post WWII setting gave the book additional depth. &newline&&newline&If you like sweet dd romance with some sexual elements but nothing overly explicit or harsh, I would highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed the descriptive way the writer drew me into the story. I could picture in my head everything she wanted me to see regarding the hotel. The plot was similar to other stories, yet unique in its own way. The characters were wonderfully created. Again, I could very much picture Lorette with her driven, stylish self and Ben (her polar opposite), casual and quietly confident. I felt like the spankings were a little harsh for the crimes, however, spankings are spankings and are the reason why we read these stories now isn\'t it? lol Very good, all in all. Enjoyed it immensely!
